a recent turn has been in the form of a swell of Jaina fans, myself included.
I myself happen to like Ysanne Isard. Got a problem with that?
Whoa, and I thought this thread was WAY gone down the list...
I can't believe that Shada D'ukal wasn't even mentioned. She was great in The Hand of Thrawn. She's also great in the NJO, but I happen to like her better when Zahn writes her character.
I voted for Jaina. But there are so many chicks not on the list that I would have voted for; Lara Notsil, Leonia Tavira...
I vote Mara Jade.She's a strong character.And do I like strong characters.
On a side note;why wasn't Shada Du'kal included. She's atrong one if you know what I mean.
Whoever's hottest gets my vote.
Im surprised Amidala is so low on the list. I think alot of people are seeing it and think who is your favorite SW female in the NJO not up to the NJO. Either that or alot of people dont have good taste, Natalie is HOT!!!!!!
not voting, too close between Jaina, Mirax and Bria
Mara Jade, of course.
I finally decided and finally voted.
Now guess who.
It has to be...Jaina!
uhm.. excuse me but did amidala or callista even appear in the NJO?
I voted for.... MARA!
i'm tired of little princessy, prissy, whiney, "I can't do that because blah blah blah..." little girls!
Mara gets the job done. Then she brushes her hands off and picks up little Ben.
I like Leia a lot and she will always be the first lady of Star Wars but I voted for Jade. Her courage, character growth, and fire personality makes me favor her over Leia.
Jaina all the way! especcially arter SBS
That two-bit former murderess, concubine, and servant of the Emperor Mara Jade will never, ever, EVER be the heroine of SW, no matter how many EU authors kowtow to the fanboys and lavish undeserved print on her.
Leia is the heroine of SW, and her mother, Padme, is the tragic heroine.
Leia and Padme have all the qualities that Mara lacks: humanity, compassion, bravery, beauty (inner as well as outer), selflessness, and nobility.
Mara is some cheap imitation of supposedly "kewl" kick-ass superchicks that we're supposed to think of as strong.
So, Shelley, what do you really think about Mara?
Seriously, she's not that bad. I don't mind her. I thought she might have mellowed out abit after VotF - but with that disease, I guess it would knock you back a tad.
--Mara gets the job done. Then she brushes her hands off and picks up little Ben.--
And then little Ben screams his head off.
I guess he senses the evil his mother once did in service to the Emperor, and has never paid for in any way, shape or form.
How do I feel about Mara?
Let me put it this way:
I've written a paragraph or two of a fanfic in which Mara gets captured by the brother of one of the people she murdered while she was serving the Emperor. She's held prisoner and tortured, then forced to shave her head, and when she gets back, she finds Luke has left her and gone back to Callista. All she has left is Ben and the Solos, and the Solos are closer and happier than ever and have just welcomed another baby, so there's little time for Mara. Then Ben gets killed, Mara freaks out, and Leia tells her to "calm down," lest her grief "harm" the new baby.
