Discussions Who Is Your Favorite Star Wars (or EU) Character Of All Time

I agree that there are so many great SW characters, both in the EU, most of of which I haven?t read yet and in the films. But if I?m gut level honest then my favorite Star Wars character of all time is, hands down, R2-D2 (a.k.a. Artoo). No character is perfect but he?s close. Name any virtue; Artoo has it. And he never disappoints. There is no organic lifeform or droid in the SW universe that has anything on Artoo. I don?t care who or what it is. Plus, he?s funny and cute. All in all I couldn?t ask for more in a character.

I agree with Azure_Angel because my close second is Padmé Amidala. At her best: She is a natural leader. She?s kind and responsible, brave and self-sacrificing for the common good. Prefers diplomacy and peace but will use aggressive negotiations when necessary. (And in SW it?s often necessary.) She?s a lady but she ?does what she has to do.? And of all the characters ? film and EU ? I think she has the best outfits.

Luke Skywalker. The name says it all. Previously in the EU I didn?t like what seemed to be too much passivity, but now I think it?s all just quiet cool. Let everyone else bluster and make noise and put on a show and be meanies to get brownie points. Luke doesn?t have to do anything but be Luke. He?s The One. There is no one else.

Leia Skywalker (better known as Leia Organa Solo): She?s a lot like her mother, but with a much sharper tongue and a much smaller wardrobe.

Han Solo ? particularly of ANH, TESB, and the Han Solo and Thrawn Trilogies.

The Anakins (Skywalker and Solo) ? for all that they are and all that they could have been. ("I reminisce over you - my g*d...")

Anakin the elder as Darth Vader, with and without the suit.

Lando Calrissian! ? suave, baby.

Ben Skywalker: Just getting to know him halfway through LotF: Betrayal. (the new Anakin Solo?)

Darth Sidious in ROTJedi: He was such evil fun!

Droma the Ryn: he and Han made just as good a team as Han and Chewie. (I know. Sacrilege!)

The Noghris

Admirals Traest Kre?fey, Gilad Pellaeon, Conan Motti and Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin. (I simply liked the way the last two talked.)

I'll just say Luke, only one that comes to the mind first off.

 

Probably Palpatine from the films. Ian McDiarmid made that character the most memorable one ever put on film in my opinion.
EU wise I'd say Luke, with Thrawn in the mix as well. Onomi(not sure if thats the spelling) and Nom Anor from NJO are ranked high as well.
But it's still Luke. I loved the NJO moment where he rescued Jacen and took down a few vong weilding two light sabers. After all the jedi who had fallen to the Vong I thought things looked grim for our heroes and then Luke took out the Vong with ease and I realized just how strong he had become, and what Jedi grandmaster meant.
