I've gone for "Another" Because I'd quite like to see a Wookiee SC.

I voted for Leah. Its a small role that Fischer could reprise her character in.

Ackbar would be awesome to see too...

    Lando.

He'd not be afraid to get his (or somebody else's) hands dirty for the greater good.

I think we should only see his shandow until Ep9, and then we see its WICKET

That depends on the time period. Mon Mothma if it's fairly soon after RotJ, Leia if it's about twenty years after, or somebody else we've never met before at any other point.

And they shouldn't reuse Supreme Chancellor.

    Or Chief of State.

Leia makes the most sense to me if they will use her at all. If Luke fulfilled Anakin's Jedi destiny, in a manner of speaking, then I feel Leia should fulfill their mother's. I mean this in terms of "promotions" had they both kept advancing in their respective callings.

Leia, based on her previous experience as a senator, her legacy of the Organas, and of course the parallel to her mother.

Bill Clinton in space. THAT should be made.:D Aliens, womanizing, budgeting and a frantic speederbike chase through the Library of Congress.

A huge step for Ewok rights! His Vice Chancellor could be C-3PO (his personal idol), wouldn't they be a good pair? I think they would!

Seriously, I think they might debate the whole structure of the republic since it was so easily subverted in the PT.
Would they even want a supreme chancellor? Some debate over the corruption and power of that position might ensue.

Depends how far into the future it goes. Palpatine was said to stay in office long after his term had expired. I would hope that Leia is not so corrupt to do such a thing. If Leia is in the film, then by virtue of her age I would think they would have to set the films 30 years past ROTJ, and I would think that her term had long since passed. And with Luke telling Leia that with time she would learn how to use the Force (seemingly by Luke's instruction), she might be more of a Jedi than a politician by this point anyway. After the whole Dooku thing, I don't know that the Republic would be up for another Jedi-politician.

If it fits the timeline, and tbh I hope it doesn't, I would like to see Leia of these choices.

I always thought Reikan would make a good leader of the republic or GFFA, anyone else?

The title Supreme Chancellor might be too odious after Palpatine but who knows. I voted for Ackbar!

    Lando!

Just saw BDW on NCIS this week.
He'd make a good Republic leader...but he seemed a bit too aged to be running around shooting a blaster.

My vote goes to Leia, but it may turn out--if they don't ignore previous EU continuity--that she has already been the Chief of State of the New Republic and is retired from that office.

If they are considering writing off the EU entirely, I highly doubt they would care about Leia's political history XD

That being said, I think Leia would translate well to screen as a leader, and would serve as a parallel to real-life politics, where females are gaining more of a foothold.
