ST Who should be the Male Lead? Finn or Luke Skywalker

There's alot of Finn fans here and there's alot of Luke fans here, so it's time to decide. Who should get more screentime? Who should be more important to the plot?

 

Luke has to be more important to the plot. As TFA ends everybody is still looking for him. I would set it up like ESB. Have Luke /Rey would side and Finn/Poe the other. So Finn would have the same amount of screentime as Han in ESB.

 

And thus began the 17345teenth fanboy war...

 

Luke of course, since his Jedi order was destroyed and his arc is not finished with this terrible backstory.

 

Oh dear lord, let yet another fanboy flame war begjn.

Anyway, it should be Finn. Finn was the co-protagonist of TFA, Finn's dynamic with Rey was at the heart of the movie, and Finn is the character who's still growing/developing. Luke should definitely be important, I fully believe that. But it's not really his story anymore, nor is it Han's (literally now), or Leia's, etc. It's Rey, Finn, Kylo, etc's story now.

 

Han was a male lead in TFA.

 

I think it should be Finn, I've already seen 1 stormtrooper sidelined and I don't wish to see another one.

 

Finn of course. Luke has had his three films, satisfactory ending or no. He will be important to the story going forward obviously but Finn and Rey are the leads of this trilogy.

nevertheless, Luke just deserves a fitting resolution to his terrible backstory and I stay with this.

It wasn't meant as derogatory though, as soon as I saw there was just 1 vote for Luke and you were already part of the thread it wasn't hard to put it together

 

Personally I think it should be me but they've been filming for a while now and I still haven't got the call.......

Finn. This is his time to shine. Give Luke about the same sized role Han had in TFA; the most important returning character, but nevertheless in a supporting role.

 

OR... "Begun the 1138teenth Fanboy War has.

 

Finn, but Luke should be a strong presence in VIII. Ultimately, Luke must be seen as successful. Also, I don't see much use in segregating leads by sex in these movies. Rey will be the lead of VIII.

 

Luke of course, Finn's story is done already.

 

So Finn's story arc ends with him getting slashed in the spine? hmmm that taste is terrible in my mouth...

Luke will be supporting. Finn, Rey, and Kylo are the leads.

 

If I'm being honest, I want it to be Luke because it's been so long since we've seen him and he's such an important part of the backstory after all these things happened to him, his family members and his Jedi academy. I feel like a Han size role is not enough for him, but I know that will probably be what we get, so I'm prepared to not see as much of Luke as I would like.

 

Before they decided to seemingly undo all of Lukes Jedi work Post ROTJ.....I would have said Finn. Now it's more 50/50...because In my eyes Luke still has a lot left to do.

 

Luke, while Finn is cool everyone knows (you know it to be true) that he will never ever reach the mythical status that Luke Skywalker has and since Luke's story (arc) isn't over he should be the male lead of VIII. Sorry Finn.
