Padme is rich and powerful so she's formal in everything she does. :)

You missed the deleted scene in which she eats ice cream with her hands.

In a particular Seinfeld episode, almost everybody in New York eats desserts and candies with utensils. :p

    Maybe Georgie is a fan.

Sure, it's George Lucas' homage to Seinfeld.

    Yeah, that's the ticket.

I eat apples and pears with a fork and knife...I don't like getting the skin in my front teeth from biting into it.

It isn't a pear, it's a shurra (or is it spelled shuura?).

This one of those scenes where I will concede that Weta digital trumped ILM.

See at the time of AotC ILM didn't have the know-how to make a real-world to CGI to real-world again character hand off. It wasn't until Bilbo took Gandalf's hat and staff that it was possible.

So Padme had to eat a fake piece of fruit. It looks really bad if you watch her mouth. Her fake chewing is awful. I wish they would have done it a different way. Like have Anakin use the force to spread her napkin or slide in her chair.

It had to be fruit - for the symbolism.

Ah! I never picked up on that one!

    Nice call!

Still, she didn't need to catch it in mid air and eat it. He could have set it on her plate and then she could have picked up a real one.

Ah well, it still looks better than all of the FX in ANH. ;)

Maybe she did not find it lady-like to pick up the fruit and eat it with her hands at the dinner table.

The HuttSlut makes absolutley no sense. WETA better than ILM? Most of WETA are former ILM employess.

The amount of awful cgi shots in the lotr is staggering.

You make no sense. Go back and read my post. I never said that Weta is better than ILM. I said in that particular example they did a better job.

    Sheesh. Relax.

    Ooh, I agree Hutt.

And, it's actually a nice comparison (the pear compared to Gandalf's hat).

When I saw the "Scale" part of the FOTR documentaries, I was stunned. How they accomplished that action (Bilbo taking Gandalf's hat) and made it look incredibly flawless is beyond me-- kudos to Weta! :)

But, in all honesty, ILM could only do so much with the animation with the shot they were given. I think the movements of Anakin's cutting and Padme's chewing are what slightly give away that it's CGI rather than ILM's actual effects.

All in all, though, it's not a big deal. :p

No one makes any sense! :)

As for eating the Shurra with a fork and knife it's a Nabooian custom handed down from generation to generation.

    Yeah, that's it.
