Who wants to see a backstory on Darth Sidious?

I know I want to. Maybe if enough people express interest it'll happen.

I would love to see it, but I think we will eventually.

 

I admit I've been a bit curious about his origins, but I've always kind of liked having Palpy/Sidious be mysterious. I think explaining too much would take away from his appeal as a dark, mostly unknown, character.

but it probably wont even be considered until the prequal trilogy is done

i could see him ignoring the one rule the sith have, that of the rule of 2
sidious in my opinion would have killed his master once he got enough training and knowleddge

Palpatine is human. He was born on Naboo, and he certainly doesn't look Gungan.

It could be interesting, if there is something in his past worth revealing. Not if it just restates what we already know about him. As a result, I don't think it would be a good idea to try to convince Del Rey to write it- we don't want to rush them.

 

I wouldn't want a novel or even a comic series on Sidious until Episode II and III have been released.

 

Since he's so damned evil, I'd guess that he's like Maul in that they were both taken by Sith Lords at young ages, and trained from then. If he was a Jedi at first, I don't really know if it's possible to feel that much hatred towards them. Remember, Vader was one bad-a$$, yet he turned to the light at the very end.

I disagree. If he was a Jedi, it means that he accepted the Dark Side voluntarily. It's harder to hate someone who was forced into to become a Sith as a child.

 

If he was a Jedi they would have known who he was and that he was a darksider. I would like to know a bit about how he became a sith. Who was his master? How did his master die? ect.

 

I would love to see a novel about Darth Sidious. He has always been a character who has intrigued me.

I am not sure who the author who should write the book would be though.

 

It's interesting to wonder how the Jedi didn't sense Sidious/Palpatine in the force for the whole time he was on Courscant. I mean if he was so evil, why was the Jedi Counsel so blinded by the fact that he was literally right under their noses. They knew that there was a turning point in the Senate when Valorum was voted out and Palpatine was successor. I would think that they would have suspected something. But I guess old Sid/Palp was just too darn good a Sith as to allude the whole Jedi counsel for so long.

Just exactly where does it say he was born on Naboo? TOS just says that it is his "homeoworld", which means he is just FROM there. I am from California, but I wasn't born there. I am sure that his birthplace will remain a secret until the time is right, but I would love to find out about his life and conversion to the dark Side.

He was either born, there or spent most of his life there as a child.

 

He could have faked it.. Maybe The Nabbo THINK he is from there. A few bribes or fake papers and it could just look like he is from there. Also Who knows Maybe he killed the real Palipatane and took over his life.
