I'm doing that, and clowns.
Eugene V. Debs by an Astronomical Unit.
I must have missed Debs in the poll.
Yeah... but he's not someone who got over 10% in the general election in the last 40 years
Heaven forbid the integrity of this poll be compromised by adding Debs.
I love Hillary, but probably Gore. He definitely would have avoided the Iraq war.
I went with Al Gore. Also, I was the first vote in the thread!
Could you please add Hubert Humphrey and George McGovern to the list? I'm sort of wistful for a time when the Democratic Party was worth a damn.
If we are serious then I'd say Al Gore. We'd avoid Iraq entirely and lives would be saved. It's early though and Trump probably will top Bush's ineptitude.
I would have loved to have seen McGovern too though. Easily the most progressive candidate the Democrats have run in the last fifty years
"If we are serious."
The OP contains a number of references to this not being serious, namely the author, the subject matter, and the last ditch attempt to save Hillary's reputation.
Mad? This gun - toting, bible - clinging bitter conservative would have crossed the aisle to vote for him.
A President Romney meant no Trump
Still Hubert Humphrey.
Another Happy Landing
The next logical steps to this valuable and valued thread is "who was the best fictional president?" and "who will be the best President 2040 to 2100?"
I was going to say Bernie Sanders. But I went with Gore on this poll, since I appreciate his environmentalism.
Ron Paul is the greatest pres you never had. Just to see him auditing the fed would have been worth the price of admission
Toss up between Clinton and Gore, IMHO.
On a serious note, I picked Mitt Romney.
The best at being not-President is definitely Gore.
I'm still going with this being the dumbest poll ever.
