Had to give Vedder a slight edge over Cobain.

I'd have to say Andrew Wood, although I voted for Kurt.

One of the first bands I ever saw live was Nirvana in '89. Luckily, musically speaking, first impressions mean almost nothing. [face_blush]

Speaking of Wood, I happened to go to one of Pearl Jam's first shows (a free outdoor gig at Seattle Center) because I heard that former members of Mother Love Bone were in the group. *lol*

    *sniff* I miss those days..

    Funny thing about the selection...

Half of them are dead and the other half have dead careers.

The reigning champion to survive... Chris Cornell.

Great to share that Eddie Vedder is sharing equal lead in this poll. I wonder why he isn't in the other poll.

It is true that Pearl Jam are recording a new album this year?

These are of course IMO. I grew up in Seattle and was lucky to see them all live.

Let me first say a couple things that may have already been said. (I haven't read the whole thread, but most)

Billy Corgan and Smashing Pumkins are not from Seattle.
Weiland and the "Clone" Temple Pilots are not either.

My favorite album band: Pearl Jam
My favorite album vocalist: Chris Cornell

My favorite live band: Sound Garden
My favorite live vocalist: Layne (A&C)

I loved all of the bands but had my favorites. Up until his death, Cobain always exuded a suicidal vibe. Vedder on the other hand used to exude a homicidal vibe on stage - he seems to have mellowed out quite a bit. Success made him soft, I guess.

Don't forget about the gimmick band "Presidents of the USA" when considering Seattle area bands or the old guys of "Queensryche" (SP?).
