I would say Anakin! Cause yoda could not beat Dooku, but Anakin beat him easily. Plus Obi-Wan who I think was a 8 could not beat Anakin with a saber. That is why he jumped. I don't know the skill numbers for each, but I thought I read some where that only Anakin and Sideous were a 9 and 9 is the fastest.

EDIT: I think there were 3 people that were a 9. I think the third person is ethier Yoda or Mace.

Whoever made that number scale should be shot. No, I'm not saying that because Obi-Wan is ranked low. If Obi-Wan was 10,000,000,000 I'd still say it was dumb. What is this childish ranking?

"Obi-Wan is a level 8 because he runs out of mana the fastest!":p

    On topic....

I don't know who to choose between Obi-Wan or Anakin. Both of their lightsabers moved in a blurry motion. Thats how fast and amazing they are.

Not to toot my own horn...o.k. I'm doing that, but a thread I made claiming Anakin was best with a saber of all the Jedi. I still think that's true.

It's here if you want to check it out. I'm just saying. :D

Thos .gif's look more realistic than the movie. In the book Sids was the fastest though on screen I think it was that the posse was the slowest. :p

My opinion, Yoda. One second he's there the next second he's there.

Yeah, I'd say Yoda easily first, Anakin and Obi-Wan at the beginning of teh duel are tied, at the furious start.

    Sidious kinda disappointed.

The Mustafar duel seemed to be the most furious one ever seen in a Star Wars film...but that was probably done on purpose.

    For starters

    (going back to first post)

Yoda made Dooku run away when they first dueled and Anakin got dismembered, I'd say Yoda won that won.

Anakin didnt beat Dooku til years later.

Obi did beat Anakin with a lightsaber. I didnt see anakin beat him. who ended up at the bottom of a hill rolling into lava?

Well I think Yoda simply has to be the fastest saber user in the films, if for no other reason than ILM would needed to have animated him moving faster than anyone else to make his fights scene work because of his size.

Grievous. No question. He's able to spin those sabres at a speed no-one, not even Yoda, gets close to.

That doesn't make him a better duellist than Yoda or even Obi-Wan as it turns out, but he does move a sabre the fastest in the film when he's spinning his wrists like that, at the start of his duel with Kenobi.

Fastest in terms of human vs human, gotta be Anakin and Obi-Wan.
Hayden and Ewan managed to reach a consistant speed that isn't reached in any of the other films, not even in the Ewan-Ray Park duel in TPM (which is only around 30 or 40 seconds long when all's said and done...)

Yoda on top... I mean he bounces around the place like a puppet on speed. He is extremely fast - and he needs to be because of his size. Anakin is very fast, but OBW has no problem deflecting his blows... so they must be close!

I know Sideous is supposed to be very fast, and he showed that against the posse - they must have used great quantities of coke, however! But mace had no problem deflecting his blows, so he must be up there with Sideous... the fact that Mace doesn't look so fast, and nor do SIds, may be that they cancel eachother out in terms of force powers - which I think is what makes them so fast.

Yoda was the fastest moving individual in general.
But I think both Anakin and Obi-Wan were faster with sabers. At least in the final duel!
Man they were movin'! Especially the first leg of the duel.
    Props to HC and EM.[face_peace]

    Hard to say.

    1. Is yoda moving the sabre that fast or is he moving himself?

    2. Not Mace for sure.

    3. Dooku did have to fight two Jedi at once (Sidiouss fight against the posse doesn't count, they just stood there!) and had to be fast enough to block to diverging sabres at once.

    4. Greivous is no Jedi. He wasn't fast enough to beat Obi-Wan or Dooku (sparring in Clone Wars and novels).

It is my belief that obi-wan is the fastest and most accurate light saberist. Better than mace, Mace recconmends the council for a great dulest to take on general grevous and he agrees on Obi-wan. and if mace could beat sidious (without interruption) than Obi-wan is better than grievous, mace, sidious in speed and accuracy. even in episode I when the quick dulest darth maul beat Qui-gon he did not beat Obi-wan, and Obi-wan was still a padawan. I mean right as Qui-gon died and Obi-wan got to dule he Out duled darth maul into him having to use a force push. He may be even better than yoda in speed and accuracy. Yoda sent Obi-wan to dule Anakin in lightsabers (witch he won) and yoda duled sidious in force energy (basically). Oh, and anikin beat doo-koo because sidious halped (thats what i think). so Its deffinitly Obi-wan!

#1 - I'm agreeing with Grievous - overlooked, but in terms of raw speed, he's tops. Too bad he's Force-handicapped.
#2 - Sidious - whether or not the movie conveyed it well, it was apparent to me that this was the intention, especially after the duel, that he's crazy fast.
#3 - Yoda. Crafty green bugger. Ninja goblin.
#4 - Anakin - he's furious once he gets going.
#5 - Obi-Wan - obviously he would have needed speed, as well as skill, to beat Grievous.
#6 - Windu - I think his talents lie more in his strength, prescience and skill than actual speed.
#7 - Tyranus - Moreso for Count Chocula. He's supremely skilled, but for actual speed, I don't know. Maybe with Viagra.
#8 - ... Zett Jukasa! Nice try kid.

Not counting Grievous because he was aided mechanically, there is a tie for fastest saber - Anakin and Obi-Wan. That's what their duel demonstrated. They were equal in every way except greed and hatred.

It is well documented in the Jedi archives that Agen Kolar is the fastest duelist in the history of the order. If you watch ROTS, his saber moves so fast, it appears as if it is just sitting in one position!!!!!

It is still undre scrutiny as to how palpatine was able to penetrate his spectacular defense!!!!!

I think its the Emperor. McDiarmid has referred to him as the fastest swordsman in the galaxy on numerous occasions (see the quotes in my signature). Anakin looks the fastest onscreen because of Hayden's talent, but I think the Emperor is supposed to be the fastest.
