I only saw the last half, but very funny comments by Harrison, Carrie and George. (Yeah, we're on a first-name basis...NOT!) They may replay it throughout the week I suggest you try to catch it or Tivo it. George was puzzled as to why he was getting an award because... DON'T READ THE REST IF U WANT TO WATCH IT UNSPOILED... he really only made three movies, Indy, SW and American Graffiti.

Anyway, watch how he keeps looking at his children when Maroon 5 plays after he chose them to play because the kids love Maroon 5. You can tell this man really lives to make his children happy. Oh, and in his thank-you speech, you can tell he really strives to make us happy, too.

Thank YOU, George. You've made us very happy with your tall tales despite our difficult lives.

That was such a great show! And our friend of the club Linda (Mara_Jade_Fan),
was one of dancing troopers w/ Shatner. There's more about this on the SDSWS boards:

    http://boards.theforce.net/San_Diego,_CA/b10143/20221311/p2

Not spoil too much for those who did not see it yet (I did tape it though) was the reunion shot of Mark, Carrie, and Harrison, along w/ the droids and Chewie on stage, as the group shot at the end of ANH is on a screen above them...:D

It's just too bad Jimmy "Bail Organa" Smits was the only one that made it from the Prequel trilogy. :(

I so enjoyed watching it last night. I have majorly lost interest in television. When you reach that point with tv, and something is on you might care about...it means so much more. This thing was actually good. :)

Thanks again Dale! Actually Rena Owen (Taun We) was also there.. but yeah, she and Jimmy Smits were the only prequel folks that I ran into there.

I know what you mean about TV skye.. I feel the same way, I rarely watch TV anymore.

So Linda...[face_whistling] how many times in rehershal did you guys "accidentally" drop Shatner when you guys were throwing... I mean... carrying him off the stage? ;)

Great show, and great job Linda and everyone in SoCal! Too bad the OT "reunion" didn't happen at C3! :( It would've made up for the long lines and bad weather! :)

Never dropped him once. Although, I think Shatner got accidently grabbed in the crotch more than once since you all know, we can't see a thing in those helmets.

Man, I can't believe I missed the awards show (heard about it on the radio this morning). Luckily it repeats this Sunday - so I better set the VCR/DVR!

He doesn't have one?? I know he's kinda removed from Hollywood in a way, but sheesh, I woulda thought he did have one.

As for the program it was indeed cool to see them all there together, OT actors.
Carrie was very funny, as she usually is, but she's said a lot of that stuff before, and she seemed a little over the top somewhat...I guess that could be her illness.
It was cool to see Harrison Ford actually ATTEND something related to SW/IJ for a change, and I thought he was very sincere and funny. My roommate said tho, "Is he okay?" - I think he was showing his age a WEE bit at certain points.
Peter Jackson! I had to do a triple take to be sure it was him. I knew immediately because of his voice...wow.
Seeing Steven Spielberg - always cool. He always seems to say the perfect thing in a unique way.

No, George doesn't have a star. You can't get it yourself. Someone else have to pay for it ($15,000). I think there may be several fans around the world willing to chip in for it though. ;)

I saw it as well. Even though I usually find these sorts of thing kinda overly-congratulatory (which is why I don't watch award shows or many of those DVD featurettes where everybody keeps saying how fabulous everybody else is), I thought it was very funny, sincere, and entertaining.

I, too, did a double-take when Peter Jackson appeared. Guess I got too used to his look during LotR.

At Mel's Diner they have a banner and t-shirts congratulating George, which has an "American Graffiti" design on the back. Might be a limited time thing.

All I have to say is: Ryan "American Idol" Seacrest has one, and GL does not...

There are definitely 15,000 fans out there who would like to see George get a star....heck, I'd bet there are 30,000 fans...which means we each have to pitch in $.50 . :D

i am absolutely STUPEFIED to hear that seacrest dude has a star, a guy who has been around, what, 5 yrs and done nothing spectacular and our genius george who has been around like 30 some odd years, has not  . (pls pardon the sentence structure.)

i say we start up a collection right here for $0.50 and have other fan force boards do the same. we need to get a star for the man! [face_dancing]

The Walk of Fame is dead if rejects like that have stars. I wouldn't want George to have a star on there.

It would have to be in a cool location, though. Not like the porno shop where Paul "Pee-Wee Herman" Reuben's is. ;)

When I was doing Celebrity escort when George Takai got his star...all that was required then was the $$$ and the guarantee that the Star would show up. So, I love the idea of getting this going. The man is way way overdue for one. So, who do we contact and who wants to start the ball rolling? :D

i guess the first question an organizer would face is, "how can i get people to trust me with that much money and believe me when i say it's not for my law school fund?"

    Hello.
I thought the show was very good, esp. with Shatner appearing at the beginning. The expression on Ford's face was hilarious.

I thought it was interesting and funny about Ford's and Fisher's speeches comparing the trilogies.

Also, did a double take on Peter Jackson's appearance.

    Thank you.
