ST Who will lose a hand in Episode 8?

i was trying to point out that losing the arm represented something, and it was kind of the same something for both anakin and luke.

 

No-one's losing any body parts. Isn't it like a Disney policy that no limb severing happens in ANY of their movies or TV shows? I thought that was down in writing somewhere?

 

Force choked, knocked unconscious. The only reason Kenobi, came out of all those fights with his limbs intact was plot armor.

GL deliberately had both anakin and luke lose a hand in the 2nd episode of their respective trilogies because it meant something regarding the "connection" between them. luke's hand loss parallel's anakin's because of the specific story of "will luke follow in his father's footsteps and become like him?"

 

Yeah ok but a lot of people lose body parts not just those two. Just inevitable with that type of weapon. Don't really think Luke was arrogant either against Vader. Confident, yes, but it was not this idiotic fighting that Anakin had in episode ii, which he deserved to get his arm cut off fight rushing a Sith Lord like that. In both instances the protagonist was defeated in the middle movie, and that is Rey for viii. She will lose to Kylo, it's just how.

yeah, but i think that rey losing an arm has to mean something connected to luke and anakin losing arms/hands... otherwise it will cheapen the meaning of luke and anakin losing arms. this has a specific meaning for the protagonist in previous films. so it shouldn't be repeated just because. it doesn't matter that of course anyone can lose an arm in a lightsaber fight. what boggles me is that people think it's a requirement that rey must lose a limb. also if phasma really does lose an arm, it makes me think that no one else will be losing a limb as that would be a bit redundant.
