I wasn't strong enough to kill it. I wasn't strong enough. But I won't fail you again. I promise.

I just went downstairs to make some food, and I saw him on the counter. He scurried into the crack between the dishwasher and the cupboard. I was hoping he went inside the dishwasher, so I could turn it on and kill him that way, but no such luck. He must be in behind it. I can't get at him there. So, I set traps on the counter above the crack on each side of the dishwasher. If he tries to get out the way he came in, he's dead meat. I put some food on the counter to lure him out.

One of the traps was just sprung! The mouse lived! The damn thing lived!!!

    I can't get over this.

Why can't you just be a good mouse and die?

Mice and Men...who is smarter ;)

Mice actually DO learn...quite fast too. I lived in a farm house for 5 years...you want mice stories ;)

    Glue traps are fun :)

I don't believe it. Last night, he took the bread and left both traps unsprung. He must have found a way around them.

I'll get him this time though. I'm not sure if you guys noticed what the traps look like, but they have a yellow pedal on one side, and the metal bar on the other. When the peddle gets stepped on, the bar comes down around it. This morning I put the traps side by side, with the pedals diagonal from one another. I put bread on the side of the trap with the metal bar. It's possible for the mouse to get the bread without stepping on the pedal, but highly unlikely.

It will die this time.

    The Mouse ;)

If not I'll lend you my dog, she wiped out an entire family of rats in my garage last summer, and rats are waaaaay worse than mice.

That would be good, Bayley, but my aunt won't allow dogs in the house.

As with any war, if your tactics arn't killing the enemy, then you should change them. I did just that, and I am proud to report not 1, not 2, but 3 kills today! It was a massacre. :D

I wonder if there's any more...

    Victory is mine. :D

lol, one time my dad went into the basement (of their place before i was born) and saw a rat, was so surprised he just reacted and managed to throw a hatchet through it's head from across the room.

My mom was once at home alone when a mouse got stuck in the trap, she freaked out, and taped the doors of the cupboard shut, then called the guy she bought the trap from and made him come over and get rid of the mouse. LOL.

I think I killed all the adults, but I can hear babies crying. I am not happy.

Hey Paul, can I borrow your cat? I promise it will be well fed. ;)

Hmmm... seems not all of the adults have been dealt with. I just got another one.

    It's an infestation.

Actually Chris, what you don't realize, that's not a 'new' one at all. It is an avatar of one of the ones you already killed!

They are coming back from the dead to haunt you, and wreak vengeance upon your household for your unholy slaughter!

    ;)

Mice are nothing, Last night when I got home from work I saw a skunk, so I followed its tracks, to my neighbors patio. I am convinced they are living under there...again.

    I am not impressed
