I was originally all for Gary Oldman (that guy can play anyone!) until I saw the Patriot. Col. Tavington just oozed Tarkin-ness. Although something may have to be done about Tarkins first name though. IMDB credits his name as Wilhuff Tarkin. Wilhuff?!?!?
I always thought Gabriel Byrne would make a good young Tarkin He's got that angled "skull like" face...LOL. Apologies to Mr. Byrne...LOL.
oldman could definately do it..he can do any part he takes to perfection, but I went with Isaacs. he just has that look to him. its in his eyes..
I always thought that Robert Carlyle would be a good Tarkin. He certainly has the look.
I think Gabriel Byrne would make a fine Tarkin.
gabriel byrne is just fine! i agree with happy ninja about robert carlyle.
I'd go with either Ralph Fiennes or the guy who played the father in "The Others"...I think his name is Christopher Eccleston. Jason Isaacs wouldn't be a bad choice either, though I personally see him more as Lucius Malfoy in "Harry Potter" now.
i have to retract my robert carlyle vote and go with ralph fiennes as well. i saw an interview with him today and immediately saw how perfect he'd be.
Ralph Fiennes wouldn't be a bad choice I guess. I just see him as his Strange Days character. All the time. Eh, what can you do.
Lately all I can see him as is his character in Red Dragon! LOL.
Robert Carlyle would be good.
You could just image Robert Carlyle... "Obi, I needs a smoke!"
Ralph Fiennes would be okay, I guess. But like Meri, all I can imagine him doing he redoing his Red Dragon role.
