From this list, I'd take Ed Speelers as the new lead. Although Matthew James Thomas certainly has a bit of that Skywalker look about him in that picture (and I'm hoping that's what the lead role is for -- the next Skywalker), I'm completely unfamiliar with his work. Who knows, maybe Thomas would be perfect?

Jesse Plemons was an interesting option, I thought, but it looks as though he may be out of the running now.

I believe that the Caucasian and black actors may well be up for two different lead roles -- one the "new Luke," the other the "new Han" -- and if this is indeed the case, I'd vote Speelers for the former, Ray Fisher for the latter.

Still, a part of me wishes JJ would just sign Dane Dehaan and get it over with. I think he'd be perfect.
