Beethoven sits alone at the top, with a massive bottleneck for second place: Jane's Addiction, Skinny Puppy, Dead Kennedys, Ministry, Public Enemy, The Velvet Underground, Beastie Boys, Bim Skala Bim, etc etc etc

    Snoop Doggy Dogg.

No, seriously, what was that original poster thinking? And how old is he? No one of any age actually thinks those people are "artists."

I just finished watching "100 Greatest Hard Rock Artists" on VH1 (gotta love the DVR, that TiVo-like device that has changed my life forever) and it reminded me that I really don't have a favorite per se (although Queensrÿche would be close), but that I love them all. From Aerosmith to The Pixies to Led Zepplin and Fugazi, it's all good.

I couldn't pick one. I like so many for each genre. I admit I love the Corey Hart!! So maybe Rabid's tastes aren't the only one perceived as uncool or teenish.

I also adore Joan Jett, Babes In Toyland, L7, NIN, Prince, Ministry, Bikini Kill, Rick Springfield, and Matt Springer.

You know what I like about Le_Pen? That original quote he has in each of his posts.

    It just oozes "e-cool."

    Just thought I'd share that.

I can't speak for everybody, but the reason I didn't mention the Ramones is that it would be like mentioning the Beatles. Both bands exist on a different plane; one that makes their inclusion on these lists simply redundant.

And yeah, my rotating sig quotes do indeed make me the coolest internet motherf****r this side of Harry "where's my pie!?" Knowles and that cross-dressing Wachowski brother. I am Sean Connery, and you all are Alex Trebek.

Matchbox Twenty, absolutely number one for me. Others include Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, and Dido. Oh, and Queen. I was into them in 5th grade because of "Bohemian Rhapsody" and have recently gotten back into them (can't seem to get "Radio Ga Ga" out of my head!)

    Ani DiFranco reigns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, Garbage, Metallica are faves as well (yeah, weird mix). Growing up it was Duran Duran [face_love] Depeche Mode, Scorpions, and Def Leppard.

Hey, Femme. D and I were watching my Battlestar Galactica box set last weekend. Do you know Rick Springfield was in the first episode?! Somehow that had slipped from my memory. He played Apollo's brother Zac.
