Tiel, you don't get shrapnel when said piece of metal or plastic is wrapped in 3 layers of red cloth tape to make it the right colour :D

I'll use the metal one for my second saber, as it is more narrow and longer, i'll use the plastic with the first, which is still pretty good, (the front handgrip looks pretty good, but i can do better on the second saber).

    Was thinking about taxi,

But may be too tempted to look at the car and say...

"What a piece of Junk!" :)

And the driver will just leave me behind ...

True Tek, I was just wondering if the overlapping of tape on the saber effected Rotoscoping, yet that's thinking for a film only and even then it may not be a concern. (never done Rotoscoping) ;)

As for a Jedi costume/Taxi, that'd probably present no problems, but if you were dressed as say a Tusken Raider, I can't think of a driver that would pick you up. :)

Tek my sabre is made out of PVC. It's basically 40cm length of 3cm pipe, a pipe plug at one end, and a pipe adaptor to a 2cm pipe at the other end. It's got a mobile phone belt clip on one end so I can attach it to my costume, and the top of a spring-loaded pen for an activation button. It's going to be sprayed with metalic panel paint (my bro-in-law owns a smash repairs, that's where I'm getting the stuff from), then I'm gonna add windscreen wiper blades aroun 10-15cm in length to the bottom half of the hilt for a grip effect.

And I'm only making the hilt, not blade. If I wanna duel with someone, I've got the sabres we used on HTR. :D

    Oh, Moi Moi!

Not that it matters... I'll be wearing a big overcoat, which should keep me dry.

(Heck, it kept me warm when it was snowing in England, it ought to do the trick)

I have finished my ornamental saber!

bloody brother broke off the focussing cap, so i had to put it back on, so i made some changes, and it looks better now.

When I do it again, i'll make sure it looks heaps good.

Now i'm off to pick up my black trousers i'll be wearing
