The Ten Commandments has terrible effects, but it's so bad it's funny. I have no idea where I'm going with this.

Oh, I fully agree with you there. The "scoreboard" approach to film-making, and the "hit points" approach to characters, is not my cup of tea either.

I personally blame it on superhero films distorting blockbuster standards of story-telling, but that may just be me.

I was only reminding everyone of the only 100% confirmed info we have. I have no idea about explaining it all without confusion. I completely agree regarding explaining the differences between KoR and Sith - if it's done at all, it could be awkward. People may be complicating things, but that wasn't my intention - like I said, I'm just reminding of the 100% confirmed stuff regarding Snoke/The Baddie.
Snoke probably is a KoR - but it's not confirmed as yet.
Snoke could be Sith - but it's not confirmed yet.
Snoke might be an ex-Imperial - but it's not confirmed yet.
Snoke may even be all three - but it's not confirmed as yet.
Snoke is a powerful darksider - that has been confirmed by JJ himself.

Is my point coming across OK? [face_peace]

Don't forget Plagueis, had a hand in Anakin's miraculous birth. He did it all.

    I don't think it's him though.

Palpatine killed Plagueis the Wise so there is no way that he is the villain.

The big bad of the ST will be an Abeloth-like character who gets awoken by Kylo Ren and Plag....err, i mean Snoke.

It amazes me how much Legends wasted Abeloth's potential. Abeloth could have been one of the Sith gods mentioned here and there in Legends, had a role in the many Sith Wars in Legends, etc., but instead she was tied to Mortis for some strange reason. I'd be all for a Cthullu-esque character who's potential is realized.

I really didn't mind her getting attached to the whole "Mortis" thing. I thought that was handled well enough for how sudden it was. It felt a hell of a lot like executive meddling, and with that in mind, I think it could have gone so much worse.

And yeah, the latter part of the arc was hamfisted and mishandled, but I really dug what they were going for. Both sides of the force coming together against a greater, less definable threat.

I really loved the idea there, even after the Mortis connection. I just think it fell apart a bit near the end.

    Abeloth would be good.

I also think an Onimi type extra-galactic alien dark-sider who has taken command of the First Order and Snoke is just his puppet would be a good angle. And a surprise twist.

I think there's a very good chance we get a character re-write of Vongerella as either Snoke or the new big bad. Actually, in all seriousness, this is the most likely scenario imo. I believe Snoke and Kylo will resurrect something Abeloth-like who will then end up turning on them both. The Snoke character may even end up being a re-write mash-up of Plagueis and Vongerella.

He didn't directly do it though, it was the force reacting against him doing the action, he shouldn't get any credit for the birth.

One thing I loved about TCW is how it showed that there's more to the galaxy than Jedi vs. Sith. With TCW cancelled, I'm counting on the ST to continue showing us this.
