Who's the best/worst/greatest villian?

Of course its Thrawn.

Vader shouldn't even be on the list, he was the protagonist in the beginning and the hero in the end.

worst: Jabba

Palpatine-he's just so machiavellian.

 

What Guinastasia said. Palpatine, by far. He was the most patient, cunning, clever, manipulative, treacherous, two-faced villain SW ever had. He caused the downfall of the Republic, the destruction of the Jedi Order, and the creation of the Empire. I doubt Thrawn could've accomplished even HALF of what Palpatine did.

As far as EU villains go, Xizor is probably the best.

The worst is definitely Daala. Her incompetence knows no bounds.

Palpatine may have been a good politician, but he wouldn't have gotten anywhere if he wasn't a Sith. Also, I can't imagine him leading a warfleet like Thrawn, and I doubt he would stand up to Maul or Dooku in a lightsaber fight. He isn't nearly as cunning as Daala or Lah, and he'd never be able to take up as much space as any of the Hutts. He isn't even that intimidating.

 

Hethrir is the most pathetic of these listed. He should be replaced with Xizor as a choice. I'm sure there's someone out there who likes Hethrir, I just doubt they'd stumble into this poll

 

But Palpatine is just pure, oozing, slimy EVIL. Thrawn is cold, cruel, viscious...but he's not Evil Incarnate like Palpy.

 

Thrawn may not be evil incarnate, but Lah is just as evil as Palpatine. Also, Lah would ravage palpatine if they ever fought

 

Lah would kill Palpatine if he could get close to him. Palp would just send object after object at the guy. Or cielings crashing down on him

I feel the Ssi-ruuk, the Dukhan League and the Yuuzhan Vong are the strongest and most lethal.
Palpatine was the most cunning and vile.
The warlords trying to keep the Empire alive were the worst.

I'm gonna say Thrawn.

I'm sure that Vader or Palps could kick his blue @$$, but he's the only Imp I wouldn't have minded seeing win.

not as arrogant as some, though. It's only arrogance if you over-estimate your abilities. Thrawn just... didn't exactly know about Leia "lady Vader"

I voted for Thrawn, but thats cause I missed Lah being in there. Thrawn is the most excellently portrayed (that's to Zahn'sn writing) villain. But Lah, so far, is doing the best of any of them, in the NJO series. I mean, Thrawn only beat up on the NR for a couple books...Lah's been doing it for like 10!

 

Lah is probably the most vicious. This makes him a very good villian.

 

Anyone who didn't pick Palpatine is clueless.

Blueberry Boy, or the rest wouldn't have been gainfully employed without Palpatine, the grand master of deception. Oh, and a Noghri killed him.

Vader had all of Honogor at his feet.

Palpy seemed to handle those clone armies, and droid armies with ease. And yes, for the slower people in here, Palptine was playing both sides of the fence there. I know lots of you don't seem to grasp that Palpatine spearheaded the Seperatist Movement solely to topple the Republic. Pure genius. Was Blueberry when all that was happening? I mean really, not in Zahn Revisionist History 202.

Lah would kill Palpatine? LOLOLOLOL!!!! He would go back to his new clone body and come back, then Lah the idiot would throw himself at his God's feet and swear his loyalty. Then the people would really be in trouble.

Palpatine TRAINED Maul from birth, read Shadowhunter. Maul is so whipped abused, and twisted by Palpatine, he doesn't know whether he is coming or going. Palpatine stole Maul as an infant, to train him.

Dooku: Everything is proceeding as planned, MASTER.

This means that Palpatine is the MASTER of a Jedi Master. Dooku wouldn't put his allegiance with a wimp. He was on the Jedi Council for twenty years. He must have seen something in Palptine worth following.


You guys need to read Dark Empire again. Or watch the movies. Or read some history. What Palptine did was miraculous, and he did without help, he made people (like young Padme) jump through his hoops and make people do it for him. If Thrawn was any good at anything, he learned it from Palpatine. Period.

Some people here are just not thinking. None of these people except the Hutts (who stay in their own territory) and the Vong (religious fanatics) would have jobs without Palpatine. Sheesh........
