Who do you like best?
I suppose Jon Stewart narrowly edges Conan for me, although I don't normally consider TDS/TCR talk shows.
I don't really consider Stewart and Colbert late night talk show hosts, so I'm going with Kimmel.
Ferguson. He's the absolute master of interviewing, and his insistence on totally subverting the late-night form for his own amusement is endlessly hilarious. He's got a good mix of high and low humor, and a great touch with the low humor, but he's also an incredibly thoughtful and genuine guy. I still remember the episode when he devoted his entire hour to a discussion with Cornel West. He's definitely the most original comedian working in the late-night form right now.
Letterman to me has also represented the anti-establishment. He makes fun of everything including himself and really does not care who is hurt by his rants.
