What other people have said... entertainment, and we know it's not real. I like stories that include a bit (or more than a bit) of darkness in them.

Vader isn't going to choke or betray anyone in my world (not that I'd mind a teleport in, but that's best left to roleplays), so it's all fine.

And yes, I enjoyed some of the deaths, because it stirs up emotion, and a good movie/book/song causes some emotion in the person who's partaking. I'm just not picky about which emotions they are. All of them are part of life and make me feel alive.

Anakin v. Dooku- Dooku at first then Anakin especially with the two lightsabers

Anakin v. Dooku- Dooku first only cause Anakin is too arrogant, then Anakin cause again Dooku is pointless and he did cut ofr Anakins arm and try to kill his girl
Sidious v. Yoda- that fight sucked and needed to go on longer
Sidious v. Jedi-Sidious, I really wanted the jedi to get knocked off their, we're better than everybody pedastal.
Mace v. Sidious-I dont like Mace but Sidious is the bad guy, but I have to go with Sidious
Anakin v. Obi-Obi Anakin had no right to want to kill Obi IMO and although what Obi did to him was rather harsh, I think Anakin deserved to be beat, just not beaten, dismembered, and burned

That is the world's biggest contradiction. You accused all the Dark Side supporters of supporting terrorism, and other crime. Yet, here you state clearly that you would enjoy watching someone get sliced up, burned and scarred...Only one sort of person talks like that...[I'm sure you can use your imagination, you have already proven you have a huge one]

 

I always route for the Sith, but at the end of the day I want the Jedi to win. Which, of course, they do! It's just cool seeing the mess the Sith make of the galaxy along the way. I wouldn't have changed the duels in any way, except maybe to make Dooku's sense of betrayal more palpable... He looks surprised, but that could be anything!

Anyways, I'm a lightside guy myself. I have always rooted for the good guys in the lightsaber battles, although watching Anakin turn in ROTS was great. The Anakin/Obi-Wan duel is a tough call, I guess it all depends on what day I watch it one. Sometimes I root for Obi and the other days Im depressed I root for Anakin, since I can relate to him more. OMG!!! Im a anti-american social deviant now. Oh well, I like singing France's national anthem and trying to get Parisian women drunk.

I sure don't see it like that. Its an action/adventure saga, as Lucas said himself, like Flash Gordon or Buck Rogers; its not sacred scripture or Greek philosophy. Lucas is an entertainer; he wants to entertain us, so we watch fights and root for people, like watching sports or something, different sides have different personalities--its like pro wrestling or something, the bad guys aren't really bad, you know? It is just family fun! His message is enjoy yourself and good can beat evil, and even the evil guys sometimes have redeeming value, this isn't deep philosophy, it is just good family entertainment, nothing more, nothing less, so enjoy the fights and root for the guys you like. Lighten up!

Sith in every fight

 

You guys have to admit, the Sith are far more interesting. You have no idea what they are going to do next. With the Jedi, you know what they are going to do, they are going to do the "right" thing.

 

I think the fights really change in people's minds are the ones in episodes 4, 5 and 6.

Because originally, you see the movie only through the eyes of Luke. Put after seeing the prequels, you see the whole picture, and understand the workings of the saga.

I remember when I was a kid, watching the fight between Obi-wan and Darth Vader in Episode 4, feeling horrible that Darth Vader killed Obi-wan.

But now, watching that same scene, I'm thinking it's great that he finally killed Obi-wan.
Obi-wan crippled, burned him. He might blame obi-wan for the loss of his wife, and to make matters worse, Obi-wan has lied to his son about him.

 

Evil characters make a story, that's what everyone wants to see. Would you rather see an additional hour of ROTJ footage showing Han talking to Leia, or an hour of Vader talking to Sidious? It's like comparing additional Shire footage with the Mouth of Sauron, no contenst. Bad guys rule.

I tend to favor the Jedi(especially Obiwan) unless sids is fighting and in the case of Maul vs Jinn because I knew Jinn had to die for Obiwan to train Anakin going in to the theater so i was rooting for him to die even though i like the character.
