Speculation Whose The Baddie?

Everytime someone asks if a character will be resurrected, they respond that it would suck if it happened. We should remember that "will happen" != "should happen".

They could dip into Dune territory some more and have the Jedi imposing a theocracy, with Leia as the big bad.

Thrawn's force messing Salamander's from that really great EU book, some bang on about! Sounds great eh?

The ysalamiri? They would be a good plot point but not good enough for a whole movie I don't think

I'd watch a Ysalamiri spinoff cartoon.

It could be like The Raccoons or Gummi Bears or Smurfs or something, with wicked Thrawn constantly trying to kidnap the ysalamiri in increasingly unlikely madcap schemes.

Kind of weasel-sloths.

I'd go for The Vong, Admiral Daala, Mandalorians (perhaps led by Boba Fett), Grand Admiral Thrawn, The Black Sun and maybe Mortis as potential villains from EU that could be used.

But I would think they'll come up with new things, certainly new stories even if they involve several known characters.

Kinda like Tom and Jerry?

What about a bunch of Sith wannabes running around the galaxy being Dark Jedi. One Dark Jedi discovers a Sith Holocron, trains as sith... Unites the Dark Jedi Under Him... Sith Lord with apprentice and army of dark Jedi

Mandalorians reimagined as terrorists. Guerrilla fighters. Set off plasma bombs inside dozens of New Republic worlds, killing millions, infiltrate the populace, attack from within. No big ships, instead packs of small ships, surgical fighters. Blow up Leia's inauguration almost killing her.

Basically they are the evil Rebellion fighting the good "Empire" (New Republic).

Republic Doesn't know how to fight this kind of enemy, hidden in their own worlds and populace. That's why they need the help of the Jedi... who train in secret hiding, decoupled from any govt so they don't get wiped out again.

Perhaps these terrorists use the Dark Side somehow.

Episode VII: Rise of the Death Watch.

First off I like the idea of only going by the movies.

However......

The term Dark Jedi is not from the movies. Further, I don't understand why so many want to say that The Sith cannot be in the ST because they were destroyed in the OT. Again, going ONLY by info in the movies, we know that the Jedi in the PT thought The Sith were destroyed 1000 years prior. In Star Wars reality, they actually went into hiding, only to emerge when the time was right to make their move. In the movies, we have no reason to think that there was ever an army of Sith, but rather that there are always two, a Master and an Apprentice. ALWAYS two, not ONLY two. That might sound a bit like Im contradicting myself, but I am referring to the idea that they are dishonest, even to themselves, i.e. Vader's "Join me, and we can end this destructive confict...."

That being said, I can see two (maybe more) possibilities in the existing films for the resurgence of The Sith.

So my guess for the baddie in Ep VII?

I'm sure they could easily come up with a term that covers all darksiders. They could even use the term "darksiders".

I just read the Plagueis book, and in it, the Sith apprentice always takes on an apprentice of their own at one point whether its known to the Master or not.

(Palps had Maul pretty much from birth, and Plagueis knew about him, and died after Maul did, or around the same time. Plagueis was still alive during TPM which spun me out a bit)

It not entirely out of line to suggest Vader had an Apprentice, and he is the remaining Sithlord, waiting in the shadows with an Apprentice of his own.

I'm not a fan of Vader's darkside legacy continuing beyond his redemption.
