That can be changed, besides there are several EU fans that haven't read any C-canon EU books, that's because they watch TCW (which is EU) or play video games (also EU).

So its not just the book readers who know that sith aren't the only darksiders, but TCW watchers as well.

And this assumption could be changed in Episode 7. Instead of having your usual 2 sith, i think having a group of dark jedi, allied together for a common goal, would be interesting.

Dark Forces 2 had something like that.

False. The assumption given in the movies is that there's a sect of lightsiders called the Jedi and a two-person sect of darksiders called the Sith.

Lucas doesn't make mistakes. What are you? Some sort of fanboy? ;)

    The assumption we make.
    The reality is fluid.

General Grievous wasn't a Sith, and he weilded lightsabers. So, it can be done.

The Sith are gone, permanently, otherwise the previous 6 movies lose their meaning. There will be a major bad guy/bad guys, but they won't be Sith.

Page 24 of the Making of ESB - on the development of the Emperor - quote:
'In the end the Emperor does exactly what Ben did; he can also transform himself. As Ben becomes the personification of the good side of the force, the Emperor is the bad'.

Maybe we haven't seen the end of old Palps? I kinda like the idea of him being an evil influence as a force ghost, just as he was as Chancellor and Emperor.
That said, I dont want 3 more films with 'baddie of the week' apprentices and villains like the prequels had.

Interesting quote. Obviously I'd be against Palpatine returning from the dead but if he's an evil version of Old Ben influencing the new main villain that could be cool. I love Ian McDiarmid and certainly wouldn't mind him being in the films if done right.

I've said before, the Nightsisters would make sense as Dark Side villains if they don't want to bring Sith back.

Deathwatch might be an option to appear as well.

I feel that Kevin Smith would bring raw potential and passion to the part played as the villain.

I think Kevin James and Kevin Smith should play the master and apprentice.

Well a Sith force ghost is something that we haven't seen yet, and it isn't too 'out there' for people to get their head around. I guess it could be explained by the blue cloud when he went down the shaft in Jedi. Like you say, it needs to be done right.

I kind of feel like any other dark side sect will feel like weaksauce after the Sith. I mean, if they're so dangerous, where were they in the previous two wars?

As for Death Watch, I think that the Mandalorians in general are a decent bet for a villain in Episode VII.

I would agree except that they have been shown as fairly dangerous and able to take on Jedi in tcw show.

Why would a Force ghost need a lightsaber?

Because it would be epic. The saber can just shoot out of the palm of his hand or something.

    It's 3:35AM. Give a guy a break.

But I still don't see why a Force ghost would need a lightsaber. It's already made of light. Much prefer an epic Force fight.

Fair enough. Vin's idea is just good because it sounds like something you would read in an Episode VII discussion... ie, mindless... but, epic.

Breaking News: The baddie will be a Sith the size of Colonel Meebur Gascon. :D
