JCC Why are Certain topics in a larger font?

I'll be honest, I never read much of that thread beyond the first few pages. Why did it keep going for so long?

 

It got ridiculous after the first page or so, and then someone made a "club" (lol) out of it, but the first few posts were awesome and made the thread a must keep.
