Why are the mods black with a line through?

We just lost our Games mods. Man. I just want to punch something..... Damn and blah. This freaking sucks.

Ask yourself this.. Is having colors worth giving your address out to the owner of the site who wants your info before giving you Access to secure areas of his site]

Even Porn sites require you to give them personal info before giving out access to their secure areas. Yet it's wrong for the JC to ask the same.

Because the mods are emotionally invested. Because they like the community.

Because the bloke's made 13 bloody posts here. Josh has barely posted outside of the prequel forums and administration boards. These forums might "belong" to them in a monetary sense, but in every other way, these forums belong to the posters.

 

I have no fear of spam, which I get anyways. I would just rather not be served with a lawsuit for failing to edit out a spoiler.

 

A few could run this ship, but not well. A vacuum is being created that cannot easily be filled, and not quickly.

 

This thread... It's quite odd. I see people I always respected, acting like complete dickheads, and people I had always disliked, making sense.

I'm finding the same to be true for me.

My major issue in this (besides giving my address) is that Mr. Wise chose to handle this situation poorly. Instead of trying to help us understand the situation, discuss it with us and move forward, he made GS his messenger and then posted twice - ignoring many of our questions. This all comes down to poor management of the situation.

Me too. I kept refreshing and not believing it was real.

And, Doright... if we all walk out, Philip might decide to close down the boards. Even if he doesn't, it would suck for a bunch of new mods to come in and not have anyone left from the old staff to even get them settled. This is a much bigger problem than pleasing or not pleasing Philip. My concern is preserving a community I helped build. It's been the only constant in my life for the past four years, and damn, would I miss it if it were gone. I'm sorry if it's selfish, but I still care about this crazy old place.

Preserving doesn't mean it has to remain stable. People can move, can post elsewhere.

That's why I'm kinda hoping that some of you folks stick around, so that this place doesn't dissolve into total chaos because new mods don't have a clue what they're doing.

If I were ever promoted to mod, I'd appreciate having more experienced mods to help me out, instead of having to learn everything for myself.

Doug, you are free to express your opinion. While I don't totally see eye to eye with you on it, I have agreed with some of what you've said. Even the mods have various thoughts on what, why, and how this is happening.

I agree he may be handeling this poorly but I still don't see it as big of an issue that you people are making it. I am sorry but I just don't. I've already stated that I think it's a good idea to have that info on file.

All of this will just be explained away by Phil and Josh as "preparations" for the new TF.N that Phil's company will be rolling out in a few months. He was just "cleaning house", I'm sure...

Seriously folks, poke on over at the rebelscum forums for more background on the new God of the JC.

 

Well, the MS knows Josh and have interacted with him for months/years. Most of the JC know of Josh and have seen him around the board. perhaps all that is needed is for Josh to ask the MS to send their information by certified mail or FEDEX/UPS to him at his home address, and to trust Josh to keep the information secure as "unpaid staff" of TFN, not for use by anyone else on a different website. ?
