Why are there no Pankcakes in Star Wars?

    Or waffles for that matter? We got Blue Milk in ANH, we got Dagobah stew in ESB and we got flying fruit in AOTC, but never did Luca$ put in panckaes or waffles?

    In one of the EU post ROTS Vader novels there is a chapter dedicated to Vader being upset about no longer being able to consume pancakes, thanks to his suit.

    Not to disagree, but there is in fact a distinct reference to waffles in ROTJ. What many people don't realize is that this image actually is a GFFA waffle iron being prepared for use:

    I read an interview where George Lucas was really disappointed that everyone thought the noises you hear are the Gonk Droid screaming in pain, when really they are squeals of joyous anticipation at the thought of the forthcoming waffles.

    George is so misunderstood.

    In early drafts, the Death Star was referred to as "a huge space waffle capable of destroying an entire plate". I wonder why GL changed it.
