Just because my team didn't make it this year, I'm still a huge fan of the game and I want to see the outcome of the season no matter what.
Cheering for the Giants. The game doesn't start until midnight local time here, though, so I'll probably tape it and watch it Monday. Assuming the Giants win. Otherwise I'll dig up my copy of SBXXV and watch Norwood go wide right instead.
I just want to have a good time at a party
That's my main reason.
Even though I really don't want to see either team win, I'll still watch the game, as I always do.
OTHER: NFL football is one of my favorite things in life.
When I was a kid it was always Star Wars and football.
I love it.
I'm watching for my love of the sport.
I'm rooting against the Patriots.
Yes, I watch the Super Bowl for many reasons. Football is amazingly fun, both to watch and to play. Yes, the Super Bowl is the best sports party of the year. But never in my life has a team been in this position to go for 19-0. And that's unique and special and makes me want to watch even more. Even if I hope they crash and burn.
If they Patriots lose to the Giants will this NY/BOSTON choke equal the Yankees choke to the Sox in 04?
As much as I'm rooting against the Pats, I voted for cheering for the Giants. I'm a closet Family Manning fan, and over the last few years the Giants games are televised down here (because they are in the same division as the Cowboys) so I've been watching their games. I like Eli and am pleased he's peeking at the right time. Jeremy Shockey was always entertaining too, but he's been injured.
So yeah, GOOOOOOOO GIANTS!
(I can't help myself with the Anti-Pats icon though! Its too good to pass up!)
Only if the Patriots have a huge lead, say 35-7 going into the 4th quarter and then Brady throws 5 INTs that get returned for touchdowns. THEN it will be as big of a choke as the one the Yankees gagged up in 2004.
Uh, because it's Super Bowl 42. Duh.
Rooting against the Patriots. Having fun is secondary to that.
I'm a Seahawks fan first and foremost, but I hate the Patriots, which is why I'm rooting for the Giants to win.
Wanna see the Pats go undefeated!!!!!!
I watch the Super Bowl every year, but I'll be rooting just a bit more this time around in hopes that the Pats lose.
I'll probably pay attention, but I'm torn, I think the Pats are going to win, but I think I need to pick the Giants and have them win to win the Playoff Pick'em. Such a quandary.
I'm hoping to see history. I only really watch the NFL during the playoffs and I don't have any specific teams I root for but this is something that may never be done again. Also, I'm very anxious to see the Super Bowl on the new HDTV we recently bought.
I'm watching to root against the Patriots.
I'll be watching it because it's the Super Bowl, though I despise both teams.
Im rooting for the Giants! They only play 18 miles up the Turnpike from me.
As much it pains me to say it, "Go Pats!"
I'm a Raiders fan, and I have thus hated the Pats ever since that sham of a Tuck Rule call, but they are my grandmother's favorite team. As she's picking out a coffin and headstone at the moment, I can't really root against them. Of course, my sister's a huge Giants fan. It'll be a lovely Sunday.
(We've got relatives all over the country, so I suppose my family supports just about every team one way or another.)
Going for the Pats in this one
I'm impartial, for the most part. Although, I've taken up the "anti-Pats" cry, so there you have it. It seems fruitless, however.
Obese, I thought you would have been cheering for the Nor-Cal Tom Brady.
Well, I was thinking of that, but my loathing for perfect teams cancels out Bay Area ties.
And, I don't want to see him break any of Montana's post-season records.
Other: I'm not so much pulling for the Patriots as I am against the '72 Dolphins and Don Shula.
