Why Are You Watching Super Bowl XLII?

Rooting against the Patriots... though I might be busy then and end up not watching it or only watching a little bit of it.

 

To watch the best team in football finish off the greatest season in NFL history.

 

For once, we're in agreement.

There's that too. If anything has come out this past football season, its that the '72 Dolphins need to go away.

 

QFT. Those guys are classless. A truly great team wouldn't care what anyone else did, because they would be secure in their own achievements.

 

Had to go for Other: I will probably watch but it won't be the live game. It doesn't start until almost 11pm here in the UK. However, Sky Sports will be repeating it tomorrow afternoon and I'm going to try to catch it then. They usually edit the 'dead time' (timeouts, etc) out for the repeat.

 

Well, so long as they leave in the commercials...

I try every year to watch it, but leave frustrated after a 45 minutes or so.

This year the BBC are showing it, so no commercials. It'll be interesting to see how empty this makes the whole thing seem.

 

Unfortunately we don't get the US commercials with the broadcast. Sky Sports will have their own break points and ads.

 

Yeah, whatever happened to athletes that had the "Records were made to broken" attitude?

I'm sure the good ones will be on Youtube within 24 hours of the US broadcast Fett.

I'm actually really looking forward to this Super Bowl, which is more than can be said for most of the others I've seen. I could see it being a thoroughly entertaining game. The Pats are good enough that blowouts can be cool, and the Giants are good enough that it will probably be a close game for at least a little while. Throw in all the subplots, and it should be fun.

 

Yeah, being that I'm not really pulling for either of the two, but have reasons I'd like to see each of them win/lose, I can be at least secure in the fact that it'll be a good game that I don't have any particular emotional stake in.

 

I don't really care for football that much and only watch it here and there. I'm just looking for a good game.
