CT Why did Owen and Beru have Luke keep the Skywalker name?

    everytime i hear the name Luke Lars, i immediately think Luke Lars, secret Agent!

    They told people they gave Luke the last name of Skywalker in honor of his dead step mother Shimi in which he loved as his own mother. I got this from the EU if you are curious.

    Shimi was Luke's grandmother, not step-mom.

    Also, don't forget that Anakin/Vader had no idea that Luke and Leia were named Luke and Leia. They weren't named until Obi-Wan pulled them out of Padme.

    Because at the time Darth vader was not Luke's father. Movies weren't written beforehand everything just got written as things went along.
