PT Why did Palpatine save Anakin on Mustafar?

    Exactly. He wanted to use him for his own ends. Vader proved to be an important asset for Sidious as ruler of the Galactic Empire. Vader was given various military responsibilities, and he slew many Jedi in the Purge. Also, it's part of Sidious's mentality. He believes "a master without an apprentice is a master of nothing."

    I tend to agree... The moment when Palps reaches down and touches Anakin/Vader on the forehead at Mustafar is where I thought he actually was demonstrating there was a glimmer of concern. Remember that these guys were close for years, where Anakin looked at Palp as a mentor and father figure in a way... I believe that even though Palps was orchestrating events as they unfolded - he developed some type of concern for his padawan.

    Remember that the Dark Side feeds off emotion... not just hate and jealousy - but others that might be demonstrated between - oh let's say - a teacher and a student??? :confused:
