Why didn't Obi Wan and Yoda........

Once Obi Wan and Yoda found out that Vader was still alive, and in a life suit, why didn't they set out to destroy him while he was still new to the suit and Yoda and Obi Wan were still young and able???? I am talking about shortly after ROTS, why didn't they meet up and go after him and take him out? He was not of sound mind, think about it, Padme is dead, he is in a plastic life suit forever, and he is probably second guessing what he has done. The perfect time to nail the bastard!

I bet they felt that Vader could be redeemed. Also, he's the Chosen One. They needed him to fulfill the Prophecy.

 

Vader is secondary. They have to get rid of Palpatine.

The RotS trailer shows that Yoda and the Emperor have a little argument, so Yoda knows what Palpy is capable of.
They knew firsthand they couldn't stop the Emperor. Stopping Vader wouldn't have changed that much. If they even could, which we don't know. (Some may, but please shut up.)


They did not think Vader could be redeemed. Especially not Ben.

So, they needed to lie low and wait for a better moment. And it needed a lot of luck and coincidence to bring the Emperor down. From an earthling's point of view. In the SW universe, it was the will of the Force. In the end, the Prophecy.

 

The Jedi are no longer esteemed and are in fact fugitives. They would have a whole army come down on them if they showed up and tried to mess with Palps.
