Lit Why didn't Palpatine punished Vader for the Death Star explosion?

    I figure that by RoTJ, Vader has gotten back his privileges.

    By contrast, in In the Shadow of Yavin, when Vader arrives on the DS2, a point is made of how the usual formal ceremony has been cancelled- Emperor's orders.

    If Vader was punished, then it was a slap on the wrist with a promotion since he has the Imperial Fleet under his command, which he uses to go searching for Luke.
