Saga Why do all computers and all ships on the Saga, have a hackable hole which R2D2 can use?

    Why do all computers and all ships on the Saga, have a hackable hole which R2D2 can use?
    Thats just convinient, I mean. Ships built by Trade Federation or Genosians should use other standards. Or is that just like an USB port, whihc is the same for everyone?

    Also how can R2D2 hack into everything if he is only a repair Droid
