Why do people love the prequels?

Here's my guess:

Things I think are reasons why people love the prequels
-They find the story compelling
-They enjoy the actors' performances
-They think the effects are cool-looking
-They find the humor hilarious

Things I DO NOT think are reasons why people love the prequels
-They will eat up anything as long as it says "Star Wars"
-They have low standards for quality acting and filmmaking
-They went in with preconceptions that were borne out

PT fans, please feel free to elaborate on the former list*. Non-PT-fans, feel free to chime in, but have the sense and decency not to spout any of the nonsense from the latter list.

*or correct me if I'm wrong about the latter list, but I imagine I'm not.
