As heartbreaking as Anakin’s fall to the dark side may seem, the entire premise is weak when viewed in a certain context. What context is this, you ask? It’s the context of . . . wait for it, reality.

In Revenge of the Sith, Anakin is willing to do whatever it takes to save Padme from dying during childbirth. And that’s understandable, I think any man would do that. Well, any man with a heart. So he wants to save Padme, so he decides early on that only the powers of the dark side can save her from dying. And that’s what really doesn’t make any sense.

Besides being the “Chosen one”, Anakin doesn’t seem to realize he’s living in an ultra-futuristic society, and they have all kinds of medical technologies to deal with any problems concerning childbirth. If Anakin had stayed goody-two-shoes, and taken Padme to a doctor like any not brain-dead human being, she would have lived and Palpatine would be dead.

    Bardan Edit: You were warned.

Because who needs rational thought when you have nightmares?
