Lets face it,CoPL was in no way whatsoever a good book, so there's no point in trying to figure out the demented going-ons of the author's mind.

And I think this post is incredibly relevant, it addresses the topic of sexual subject matter in books.

I for one, have no problem with it, authors just have to describe scenes and situations in more "detail" in books than there is in movies. In a movie if a character gives someone "that look," we all know what he's thinking, but in a book, "that look" has to be defined before it can be recognized as "that look."

Mike Stackpole is the best EU writer at sexual tension. Not because he's a pervert, but because he isn't afraid to break literary taboos like this.

Which isn't to say some people don't go too far. Its been a while since I read CoPL, but I think that author (I forget his name) did cross the line.

To sum it up, I think the author of this book isa horny nerd who can't get any so resorts to writing about it.

First, Stackpole goes MUCH farther than Wolverton does. Second, why would you keep repeating that he's a "horny nerd who can't get any so he resorts to writing about it"? Do you have ANY basis for such an insulting comment? Do you know ANYTHING about the guy? So he had some naked women in his book. Is National Geographic magazine perverted because they have pictures of topless African women? And yes, obviously there's going to be some sexual tension when there's an attractive women naked in a cave or something with you. And I wouldn't go around calling an author a "horny nerd" when you're sitting here trying to make connections between the acronym of a book's title and sexually-oriented words...

I personally don't have any problem with you, but this is a relevent thread. There is nothing wrong with discussing the subject matter of the books. We are in the Literature forum afterall. The description of the breasts was not a sexual matter, but a cultural one. Have you never seen a National Geographic special or watched the Discovery Channel?
