Why does Luke whack away at Vader's saber?

    He's just lashing away in anger, DLM. It's not that hard to understand, although I know you dislike the lightsabre duel in ROTJ.

    Luke bashes away, then a thought manages to get through the red mist for a second to see he's getting nowhere, so he knocks Vader's blade aside with a different strike angle. Then bye-bye hand.
