Why doesn't GL just go animated?

Think of it this way, Fat_Man...

The prequels. 1-3. The 'golden age' of the galaxy. Think Roman Empire, in the height of its glory. Fancy ships, grandeur abundant.

Then you get war and an all-encompassing Empire that's consuming resources like wildfire, and the galaxy is plunged into the 'Dark Ages'.

Things degenerate all the time. The world doesn't just progress steadily and get better and better as the years go by.

Look at it this way
PT = 1920's flash cloths flashy stylised cars
OT = WW2 1940's basic cloths cars made to do the job not look pretty.

Plus I think the point in the Old Trilogy is that the Empire has killed off a lot of the Cultures from PT.
Plus both luke and Leia say to Han what a piece of junk the Falcon is, so obviously they have seen better!
As far as the acting/script bad?
I think rather then bad it's done in a way to reflect the changing times example: I'm sure all our Grand parents speak differently than us, hell I'm only in my late 20's
and I can't understand a damned thing teen's go on with.
