Why games has gone downhill.(not jp's fault)

newbies, and there non understnad of the 'regulars'

JP's moderation actualy has nothing to do with it, it is the people who come in here and try to 'fit in' but do not realize that to 'fit in' you have to have some sense of humor and understand no matter what you will never 'fit in' the way you think.

Now games is not Mine, nor bibs no dan's personal playground, we had select threads for that and left people alone, then so many newbies came in and our threads that got maybe one to three posts a day were disapearing, teh horror.

Now not to say I hate newbies, I enjoy the new blood, but when it comes to a point that they do not even look past the first 5 threads to make a thread it is pathetic, this place looks like JC comms on some days becase jp has to be the redundant cop.

Now the game content has never been better here.. even if you have 5 threads on the same bloody topic.


but the sociability of games is pretty much dead.

Hopefully Bib will submit a proper unban request (not an insult like the last one), and he will be back.

That should liven things up again. Although it's his doing that other genuinely funny games forum posters like SoloCommand, Ben Kenobi & Terra (to name but three) don't get too involved in this board's social threads as often as they could.

SoloCommand doesnt get too involved in this board's social threads as often as he could.

There's reasons.

One of them's banned.
The other is my constanty updated schedule.

 

Another thing about the state of this forum's humour / social level;

Much of the lack of sociability here is due to the unfriendly nature of the oldies. Not much effort is made to help others, to build friendships, and to make people outside of the old ForceBoat clique feel welcome, or like they're part of a social group.

A relatively new member asks for XWA mod recommendations and is told to go use google. Google might give links but it doesn't play xwa mods, so it would be hard pressed to give recommendations.

Basically if you want a more social board, you need to make the effort to make people want to come here to socialise. I don't see this happening at present.

The other thing that surprises me is the lack of organised JC.N Games Outcast games. That would do wonders for increasing sociablity here (amongst the PC owners at any rate).

If you want things to improve, take the initiative and actually do something about it!

 

Suggestions.

1. I'll add Jedi Knight mod links to my FAQ. (Considering I'll never get any support off Board folk.)
2. Create a database of existing mods (mammoth task, so best ones suggested), distribute to regulars for use in such an occasion.

And oh yeah.
We REALLY need to see a comeback in the old weekly Jedi Knight games! Get back a good sense of comeraderee. Remember the good old days.

Terra for one is definitely in the mood for it, he's dead eagar to start a new clan.

 

I'd be more than willing to organize games and get the clan going when Bib gets back. He's one of my best friends on these boards, and one of the reasons why I hang around. When he gets back, things will be better.

It's not my problem. I've done my best to personally be friendly to people on this board. I can't help it if you two have problems. He's my friend, and that's all I was pointing out.

SoloCommand is right though. Bib does more to make people not want to visit the Games Forum / partake in social threads than any other factor.

I have spelt out to him time and time again that I don't mind his hijinx, unless they directly reduce other people's enjoyment of this board.

Unless he does have an attitude change, or can learn to be funny without being rude and/or insulting toward specific people, his return will probably be extremely short-lived.

 

I for one, can see why he's got it in for me.

The problem is that he speaks his mind too much which is mostly made of Yoda puffs and Vadar nuts
