I think this title has nothing to do with Anakin & Padme. The title should be something like Anakin & Padme Love theme, or Forbbiden Love theme....

Look at the OT soundtrack titles, every title has to do with the story...I think this is the only one that doesen't...

First off, I would like to state that anyone wishing to comment that they think "Across the Stars" is not, in fact, the title of the love theme, please go here. I don't think any of us want such comments possibly derailing this thread. :)

    Alright, on to your thread.

    *ahem*

*turns on Across the Stars to set the mood* :D

First of all, cool thread idea, I like it. :) Hmmm, why do I think it's called "Across the Stars"? Well, when I first heard the title (back when it was rumored Celine Dion was singing it [face_laugh] ), I loved it! I made me think of the old swashbuckling heroes and their maidens streaking across the galaxy and saving the day together. It made me think of like, once again, swashbuckling hero and maiden sailing across the high seas of space and stars and made me think of adventure, and love, and... And just... Yeah, all that. :D

And, when I listen to it and the third bold statement comes in, and I look at my huge AOTC theatrical poster in my room, and I see Anakin staring off into the sunset with his maiden on his shoulder it's just like... BAM! That's what it is! :D :D :D

I have nothing to add. That is it exactly.

I kinda think the title's referring to Anakin and Padme's love. Their love spans the galaxy, no matter where they are and so on.

    So, "Across The Stars" :)

    Star-crossed lovers.

The prologue of Romeo and Juliet mentions this... meaning that Romeo and Juliet are in love AGAINST the stars (the horoscope -- the destiny) and that destiny will cross them back.

    (I didn't explain that well, did I?)

Ah, who knows? Let's not forget that JW probably doesn't name these.

I almost wish he called it 'The Tutti-Frutti Nutbar Express' or something instead. The conversations about the meaning behind the title would've been wonderfully bizarre :D

I'm tempted to go and post a thread:

"The Tutti-Frutti Nutbar Express is not the title of the love theme!"

And it'd be true, too. :p

Hmm...this alone is an intersting question, yet I agree with what some have said to be the reason, such as the fact that Anakin and Padme's love spans the galaxy and also that they are two star crossed lovers. All works into the title of this song. I also at first was confused by it. But now it makes perfect sense.

Certainly a lot more sense than "The Tutti-Frutti Nutbar Express".

.... and people complain about The Moth Theme ... *shakes head*

what? that's off-topic? so? I was at a party or asleep while this was posted and everything that I could have come up with has been said already. in other words:
    I agree, too.

So this could also be meanin that when their love is "over", when Anakin turn's to the darkside, evil embraces all across the galaxy (stars) ...sory for the english but I think you'll understand what I mean, I hope..

Yes, but...who is the Tutti and who is the Frutti? Is Anakin the Tutti? I certainly hope he's not Frutti...

    A- it's a pretty name,
B- the love between Anakin and Padme is a love that's 'across the stars'. they are a significant pair of 'star-crossed lovers', and that gives the meaning of the title of the love theme.

You know, for everyone who has suggested the "star-crossed lovers" thing... Wow, I never thought of that before! I love it, and it makes absolute sense as well! :D

I think the name "Across the stars" could be intended for Episode III. We know from ROTJ that Padmé Amidala and Darth Vader must have been living separate lives, and that Padmé spent her last few years in sadness.
