ST Why is Luke Skywalker in hiding? Why was Yoda in hiding?

If we can answer these questions, I think that our understanding of what is going on will increase dramatically...

I have always thought, especially since Vader could sense Luke and since the Jedi council couldn't sense Paplatine, that it put Jedi at a distinct disadvantage. A bit like the spider sense...

But why else has Luke exiled himself?

What has happened?

What is he hiding or hiding from?

For me, this is the absolute crux of everything that is to come!

P.s. I used to be in the Irish Navy... I was quite proud to see a few of my old pals on the patrol when filming was in Ireland.
