Didn't the tree gate close, becoming only a tree again? LIke when the monster came through the wall of the house and when mom used the axe on it , it was only a wall?

Well, but no one ever went through the wall of the house except the Demogorgon, who it seemed could break through from the Upside Down anywhere it wanted. The tree gate is the only gate other than the one in the Hawkins Research Facility that a human was able to go through (and then return back through).

I thought it was great how they wrote the Steve character beyond just the stock teenage villain. He learned and grew from his mistakes.

Jonathan was a peeping tom who didn't seem to grow as much.

Both good guys deep down but Steve's character was better written and interesting I thought.

Plus the pompadour.

I don't know, I like Jonathan more, he has a better personality and out of the two I would much rather hang out with Jonathan, Jonathan reminds me of the Poor Mans Leo DiCaprio where as Steve reminds me of Troy from the Goonies!

Not sure I can. Sure Steve grew as a person. He was a privileged little ass who was able to take the steps to be a man. But I absolutely hate his hair.

Jonathan may not have grown as much in this show as he his life was vastly different and he seemed to already be more a man to start with. As far as his 'creeping', if we allow Steve his helping paint the marquee and his bullying and trying to beat up Jonathan, we must allow Jonathan his taking pictures as it's not like he had been stalking her.

Hell, I'm Team Nancy, she needs neither but can have both if she chooses.
