And another thing--why charge for books, anyway? [face_shame_on_you]

If Crucible was an example of how they would attempt to wrap up loose ends for the Big Three, I'd rather they not even bother.

Because it already did, in 2003.

I'm running HoloNet 7 and it works just fine, especially in conjunction with subspaceBox.

...in fact, you could run it on Vista with the Box, so I fail to see a problem unless you're adamant about sticking to the official Tibanna digital re-release.

Don't mind me, just improving on the OP.

Stover should be hired to finally finish Blood Oath and to do the third story after Death Troopers and Red Harvest. And he should do a romance novel for Jaina and Jag.

The final EU book should be Jaina using a Rakata device to warn Leia about everything and thus prevent countless horrors!

I've thought of SW Expanded Universe more like winning the lottery. That's also what I think about it happening again.

Something where you weren't Boba Fett.

I would be sad for the Sky/Solo kids we have now. Their whole life was a lie.

I think it was Boba Fett all along. Unlike with TFU, LucasArts was actually justified about being cagey with the protagonist.

Don't worry, EA will bring the innovation on in-game stores where you can buy hats and uniforms for your characters with real-world money. Microtransactions are what video games fans demand, who are they to deny them?

I don't really see the point of complaining about them charging money for something that I don't need. I just don't buy it.

The problem might be that they think Crucible already was that bang, potentially. Denning said he rewrote the ending in a way that would leave it open for further novels if the occasion should arise, but also to have it stand as the final volume if things turned out that way. And truth be told, how do you follow that?

Putting aside Disney's closure of LucasArts, 1313's problems were TFU's problems writ large. Namely:

    1. Too unoriginal in terms of gameplay. TFU is basically God of War: Star Wars Edition. From what we could see in trailers, 1313 looked to be the next generic third-person cover-based shooter, with impossible-to-fail platforming straight out of Enslaved: Odyssey to the West.

    2. It wasn't Battlefront III or the next Jedi Knight game, so relatively few people on the PC cared. Meanwhile, consoles were already swamped with the aforementioned third-person shooter, just as they were swamped with God of War clones. Read: no market on any given console that LucasArts could count on.

Now be sure to quote me when EA Dice's Battlefront turns out to be Battlefield with Blasters.

I thought it wasn't, and then Lucas said it should be, and then it was.

Battlefront was already Battlefield with Blasters. It even has Battle- in the title. Dark Forces was Doom with Star Wars.

Battlefront is actually Battlezone II with Blasters. For all the superficial similarities, Battlefront and Battlefield play rather differently for two FPS titles.

This isn't accurate, in my experience (which is extensive; been playing both since release). I could go a whole thread/conversation on this topic alone.
