I was wondering why Admiral Piett is not in ROTJ. I mean he was not killed off in Empire Strikes Back. So does anyone know why? Or is there no reason for it.

He's there. He's in command of the SSD Executor. Go watch ROTJ again. Some other Imperial is in charge of the DS, Moff Jerjerod(sp?)

He was killed at the Battle of Endor. He was one of the officers that jumped into the pit right before the A-Wing crashed into the bridge.

Piett is the commanding officer on the Executor. He is in at least 3 scenes in the movie, and has lines in each.

Most people don't know this, but "the other" that Yoda spoke of was actually Piett not Leia as Obi Wan suggested. Originally he had a bigger role where Piett faced off against Luke with Lightsabers.

I didn't miss him. I saw him in those 3 scenes I mentioned.

Or perhaps you added a "not" when you shouldn't have? :p

He is in it but I think he should have been in command of the Death Star.

He commanded the Executor, not the Death Star.

If my inside feelings serve me well, I believe he is in the movie.

I remember one scene when Luke, Han, Leia are using the spy ship to land on the moon thing.

And the scene (close to the end) that he's in the big ship getting kamikaze by the damaged rebel fighter.

Why should Piett have been in command of the DSII? It was Palpy's baby, so he handpicked whoever he liked to be in charge there.

He also has a scene a little after the Rebel Fleet arrives.

    "We're not going to attack?"
"I've received a direct order from the Emperor. He has something special planned for them."

To add to this thought....maybe Jerjerrod was a better choice to head the Death Star due to the fact that he might have been better suited to head a major construction project (maybe he has a background in engineering or something). Piett, being a ship captain and then a fleet admiral, would be better suited to commanding a battle fleet than heading up a construction project.

"Yea you know...He jumps, that would really hurt "

It was more the A-wing careening into the bridge, thus throwing the Executor into a free-fall which plummets into the Death Star, which promptly explodes that gets him.

See, it's the fiery death that would hurt him.

Poor Piett. He should have made evasive maneuvers quicker.

Nah Tarkin is better, he was in control of Vaders wrath (to an extent). Too bad he didn't believe in million to one shots.

The person in command of DSII was the Empreror, the Moff was just in charge before than and carrying out the Emperors orders. Different role to Tarkin in ANH.
