ST Why Snoke IS Darth Plagueis

We'll see in two years.

 

I think my previous theory of Snoke being Ric Ollie after taking a long long nap holds some water.

 

I think the Operator is Thrawn. Thrawn was tasked with seeking out the source of Dark Side energy in the Beyond by the Emperor and ran into Snoke. After the Empire fell, Snoke had Thrawn clean house and bring the remaining Imperial remnant to the Beyond to be reorganized into the First Order.

 

In my opinion Snoke being Plagueis is even more likely than Rey being Luke's daughter.

 

Maybe that Bloodline book will give some clues on who Snoke is.

 

Why is that? I'm not trying to be a jerk, it's just that it seems that most of the pro-plagueis camp thinks that Snoke is Plagueis mostly because they think it would be cool.

 

The script says Snoke is "not entirely human". What does that imply?

 

Is there any other sith lord being reffered on the canon story? No.
Is Snoke a sith lord? He may really be.
Does anyone else known to the story besides Plagueis could be as powerful as Snoke seems to be? Don't think so.

How come they never mention Sith? Maybe there are no Sith & Snoke is a different kind Dark Side force user.

 

To be fair, though, Palpatine was never mentioned as a Sith or referred to as Sidious in the OT. I don't think even the original EU novels/comics referred to him as Sith, although I could be wrong.

If Snoke turns out to be not only a Sith, but also Plagueis, they could be saving that for Episode VIII.

 

I think Lucas not using Sith in the early years had more to do with story not fleshed out yet.

 

It's interesting that they mention Snoke has no permanent base of operations, but rather stays mobile. Like on a ship. Like the Operator.

 

You know I have been thinking about the whole Snoke issue way to much and I have had a thought I would like to share. What if Snoke really is just Snoke. He is someone of historical importance in the old Imperial system that has seen the transition to the First Order but is little more than a beuracrat. However in retreat to the outer rim to build the First Order he discovers or is found by Darth Plaguis who is played by Benicio Del Toro, Snoke is little more than his puppet? Upon the completion of TFA Kylo Ren is actually taken to Plaguis for the first time to really complete his training. So whilst Snoke is being set up as the villain in TFA there is really a much greater Dark Side threat.

One reason why that I think something like this could be true is because there is a conflict between Ren's worshiping of Vader over Snoke who we suppose to be his master. Hux even suggests Ren is focusing on his own agenda over Snokes which is a totally different than Vader's subservience to the Emperor. If Snoke is all powerful I do not believe there can be room for such admiration of Vader.

Of cause Plaguis could just be replaced by any ancient Dark Side figure if Disney choose to not use the PT reference.

 

I think Snoke is using the Vader issue with Ren as a control mechanism.

How do we know Snoke is powerful?

 

he's Palpatine .

 

He's Sidious!

 

If they did mention Sith, it would be a massive give away and spoil the whole "the Sith return" in Ep8. That's my opinion on the matter anyway.

I love this idea! Certainly an interesting twist on the theory.

 

I never did get used to calling him that .
