Yeah well Cameron is on his fourth(?) wife now so.

Wait…were he and Linda Hamilton ever married or just a thing?

Yes, they were married. Hamilton was his fourth wife until he met Suzy Amis Cameron, who had a small part in Titanic.

Man so now he's on his FIFTH wife.

I knew Amis and Cameron were married but didn't know what number she was.

    Yowzers.

    So there's been:

    Gale Anne Hurd
    Linda Hamilton
    Katheryn Bigelow
    and Amis

    And an earlier wife?

Well, I hope he saved that Avatar money... that's a lot of ex-wives to send money to :)

The reason TFA has a chance is that the Oscars are an industry award. That means a lot of cigar chomping executive types get to vote on the result. And a movie that is the largest of all time (in all likelihood) will always figure in the minds of the bean counters.

    Hello Avatar!

We've had some seriously great films this year, though. And a lot that should be in the running probably won't be. Only saw Sicario just the other night, but if that doesn't get a nod for cinematogrophy at least then the awards are a farce.

Then again...as we all know the awards are a farce. :)

Tfa's only been nominated for one of the precursor awards so I doubt it.

He had to pay Hamilton 50 million for the privilege.

Here's my prediction for what TFA gets nominated for:

    Best Score
    Best Sound
    Best Sound Editing
    Best Visual Effects

My prediction is that it wins one: Best Visual Effects.

I kinda hope Harrisson Ford is nominated, along with Rey.
Unfortunately I think it won't win any of the major awards. It's not snobby enough for that.

Mainstream films usually don't win the major gongs at the Academy Awards, unfortunately, although I hope Daisy can spring a surprise and become the Best Actress winner... But like I mentioned earlier, there is a good chance of TFA winning the technical awards though! =D=

That's a fairly impressive list of top 10's and rightly so. Also third best reviewed wide release film on RT for the year if I'm not mistaken.

The Millennium Falcon is gutted that her film didn't get the Best Picture nomination...

But I'm still happy for her as TFA is in almost all technical categories, as well as that beautiful soundtrack by John Williams getting a Best Original Score nomination!
