I was talking about in-universe. Also, check out the clothing of Amidala and her handmaidens.

No reason was ever given in the movies.

    Yes. Naboo still isn't a red planet/culture.

I have a question for you. It's about fan preference. Do you prefer pre-suit Vader to have a red or blue lightsaber? For what reasons? There are pros and cons on both sides. Seeing that handsome man with a red lightsaber is kinda cool (NO, its spectacular), but having anakin with a blue lightsaber means that luke wielded the same lightsaber that did evil things-younglings, lizardmen and bugmen on the Seperatist council on Mustafar, the 3 jedi in the hologram vader killed, and dueling obi wan. Obi wan takes the blue lightsaber as anakin burns in the lava and gets disfigured.

There are pros and cons for Anakin having a red lightsaber and a blue one. What do you prefer? If you made ROTS, would pre-suit Vader have a red or blue lightsaber?

Where in the Lucasverse is Darth Bane established to have had a red lightsaber?[/quote]
Where is it stated that he didn't?

So am I. Both are cool. But what do you think the movies should have included. Red or blue?

I'm fine either way. Either way, it's equally awesome and cool. Agree?

I remember reading somewhere that the original idea of the lightsabres was that they would reflect the personality of the wielder. That's why Vader's was red and Obi-Wan's was blue.

well it wouldnt make sense to have Anakin with a red saber after Windu dies cause he is still hiding the fact that he has fallen to the sith at this point. Second wasteful not Anakin has a light saber he doesnt need another. It also give the impression that there is still the chance of being saved as the film goes on, because he still uses the blue saber it shows a slower transition to becoming a Sith. Only Mustafar do we see a yellow eyed Anakin showing that he is using the dark side of the force. So it makes sense that he wont lose his blue light saber until then when he can no longer hide the fact that he has fallen to the dark side. Besides it would be harder to see his lightsaber against the red and orange back drop of the lava on Mustafar.
It was a battle between two people who were practically brothers. You dont want the viewer sitting there going 'where is his lightsaber?'

The pic of Bane on the cover of Rule of Two shows a red lightsaber. I think The Essential Guide to Warfare also illustrates the battle- and as I recall he's got a red lightsaber:

As to why Anakin didn't get one after his turn- the post above describes it best.

Red is an "evil" colour. I don't know, it represents passion and hate and all that stuff. Star Wars has always been pretty simple and pantomime in its visual ques. I think that’s the reason why.

Because it took forever for people to realize that this thread is about GL's intent when making TPM.

It was at the start. In a manner of speaking. You think it would have been feasible to him just to switch sabers in the movie?

Because red represents evil. Imagine you what hell looks like. It's all red!

Red can be associated with Good in some works. And the Rebels have a red symbol, and their starfighters fire red bolts whereas Imperial ones fire green.
