FF:VIC Why Victoria is the best place on Earth.

Guys, I'm really interested to hear your views.

It can be a paragraph, an odd thought that occured to you during the day, or perhaps a compare and contrast.

The underlying theme? Why you love this state more then any other, and why it is the greatest place on Earth.

From Ballarat to Bendigo to Bittern, from FernTree Gully to Frankston, and of course Melbourne: our diversity, our rich wealth in environment, our culture, our entertainment, our spirit and our footy...we are the state to be.

A few reasons of my own to get going:

- We have Steve Bracksy. 'nuff said, to quote the oft quoted.

- We have the MCG: hallowed stage of the mightest of epics over all sporting genres.

- We have EJ Teddy Whitten, perhaps the epitome of the Aussie spirit.

- We have the bay.

- We'll never let the Big V down.

 

-because our environment is so wonderfully beautiful that we can walk, we can swim, we can surf, we can bushwalk, we can camp, we can DUMP with the confidence that we are safe!

-because we have the best internet forum in the world!

-we are without Texans!

-we have Mixo and Lute! 'nuff said!

-we have the Grand Prix, Kane, which is fabulous because it has made Albert Park THAT much better

-our cuisine is fab thanks to the fact that Melbourne is one of the ethnic capitals of the world!

 

Agreed. The Souvlaki Bar in Southgate is second to none for good quality grub..

 

I can run around the bush naked and unhindered!

I can roll in peanut butter and lay on an ants next without fear of prison!

I can marry my cousin and not be sent to jail!

I can make sheep skin jocks!

 

Melbourne is, simply put, a cultural experience unlike any other. Within the CBD you can get excellent food of almost any sort, and when you move into the suburbs you'll find ethnic communities which demonstrate the brilliant multiculturalism that Melbourne was founded upon. Lacking the commercialism tourism-centric nature of its northern neighbour, but still the second largest city in Australia, Melbourne truly is The Place To Be.

We also are offcially, one of the least threatned by the war, due to our distance from Iraq.

 

Nice mountains and in my area fresh air and water.

 

The wonderfully cheap broadband!

We have the cleanest cities, coolest tourist attractions (ie penguin hunting)... and we have Huggard.

 

We have Ninja Rabbits, cool homeless people (Hey for a country guy in Melbourne they are cool) and fresh milk everyday

 

We don't have to live in Sydney.

Because we have a working Luna Park Unlike some other places not to be mensioned...

Because we have the second most confusing people on earth living here. (Unfortunatly Queensland Beats us on that one)

Of course Victoria is the best... we voted the highest percentage in the Republic Referendum!

I hear you Mixo. I'd be glad to serve in the bush with you kids, but unfortunately the Government's Federal budget doesn't think Education is a priority, and is willing to destroy it for the sake of more bombs and their ludicrious "pacific solution" whilst willing Medical students are left on the outer due to huge disparities between intakes into Univeristy's and industry demand....
