Why was most of Spider-Man 2's music tracked?

I didn't really like Spider-Man 2, the tracked music from the first film really bothered me. Anyone know why it was tracked?

I didn't have a problem with it. I love the spider-man theme by Danny Elfman, but I have to admit, it does play a little too often.

I believe there are no cues in the second movie that are "tracked" from the first movie.

What about when Spidey stops the car from hitting the people? Isn't that from the time he first tries out web-slinging?

Some of the music is tracked, such as when May gives her "hero" speech (the original music for which is on the album, btw), but a lot of the other music from the first film was simply re-recorded.

I love both Spider-Man scores, just for the record. They don't get nearly enough credit and neither does Danny Elfman.
