Why Yodas race was never introduced

If you think about it why wasent one of the most reconizable among star wars figures species introduced. They had their chance many times, and the EU authors did too. And then whene Yaddle came in in Episode2 it seemed wierd they dident introduce the race like so many others.
Could his race be a long forgotten Jedi race with unspoeacable powers, or was he the dudes who built Centerpoint(Not my idea but ive heard it.)?

Doesn't Lucas set boundries around what an auther can and cannot write? Maybe GL told the EU authers to stay away from that species because he has somethin planned for them. Maybe they'll be in ep 2 or 3. And if they arn't introduced, than we can only hope that they'll be the last hope aqainst the Vong.

 

Yoda's race is unknown, and will remain that way. I believe it was one of the forbidden topics that Lucasfims set down when the EU books started. That and the Clone Wars, Luke and Mara's marriage, and several other things.

 

Well I just find that odd because we have 2 examples and with other species we dont even have a picture but at least have a name.

 

I think Lucas will either do something with them in episode 2 or 3, and if not then they will be a forever unknown.

Isn't it possible that maybe Lucas just wants Yoda not to be revealed? Isn't it just possible that there is one species out there that isn't all powerful? Maybe he is the last of his species, which...I think was kind of a given, but just because his species is ancient, does it mean they're all powerful? They could be intelligent, but then again, Yoda is the only one of his kind we reallymeet, so isn't it possible he could just be a really smart......Yoda-lite?

 

If Yoda was the last of his species, that would mean Yaddle was just about the second to last of his species. A male and a female. Now, with the level of technology we've seen in Episode One, it's a foregone conclusion the Republic had access to Viagra technology, and...well, you get the picture.

 

A yoda alien, could be found in Tales 7 boba fett story(which is part of continuity, since gamer#6 article.).

A Yoda alien statue of one of yoda's ancestors could be seen in Jedi Knight books.

 

We'll probly find out in EII or EIII or a future book.

I think it's just you. There's a slight resemblance, I agree, but he's clearly not of Yoda's species if it's what you mean....

Yoda and Yaddle could be part of the Lannik race possibly a sub-species of it, theres only a small difference in the height of the race and the ears look alike too, Jedi Council member Even Piell is a member of this race.

 

I too thought he may have been a Lannik, but people usually shoot that idea down.

 

That bad guy from the Droids comics bears a minor resemblance to Yoda's race, as does Pic from JK.

 

I like the mystery of Yoda but I would like to eventually know his race and homeplanet.

 

Lanniks are completely humanoid save for the ears. They have a full hand of digits as opposed to three. Yoda cannot be a Lannik.

As for Oleg Greck (of the droids comic), he is almost certainly the same species as Gorc and Pic. They look exactly alike, save for the size differences. Three fingers per hand.

And the Tales #7 alien, he is not the same species as Yoda. Again, counting the digits on his hand, he has five. He is also much taller than Yoda.

 

I just thought of another theory of Yoda's race. They could actually be the Shi'ido however unlikely. But I still think Yoda's race invented Centerpoint mostly because of the operators chair that forms to fit the user.

Considering I knew people born with 3 fingers. And heard of people born with 6 fingers, that's not a surefire thing.

I even knew people quite smaller, and quite taller than me as well.

Just as much only seeing 2 of yoda's species we know of for certain, we don't know what racial variations occur. 2 of a species is not a wide enough sampling to make any descisions.

The tales 7 alien could very well, easily be a yoda, or a close racial relative.
