I'm not positive, since I haven't read them, but I believe that Rogue Squadron is loosely based on the books of the same name.

 

Rogue Squadron's plot is lifting from a few of the books but then put into a different time frame with different pilots.

RS takes place between ANH and ESB, but it borrows from the EU.

Ok is rogue squadron based on the book or is it a story of its own? and is RS3D a newer version of Rogue Squadron or a story of its own.

RS3D is just the PC version of RS.

 

Like I said earlier, RS/RS3D takes place between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. It makes its own plot.

oh, you mean the thing about JK taking place 1 year after battle of endor(directly after Prophets of the darkside), and that leia is married in the story. yep it's true, it's even in the Audio drama(in which leia is called "leia organa solo 5 or more times").

that part is not a continuity error per say, since it does validate what happened in Prophets.

We just haven't gotten the annullment story.

Mysteries of the sith, takes place during Dark Empire, a few years later, and ties into the holocron from Dark empire.

 

POTDS does not take place 1 year after BOE its 7 years.

 

POTDS, takes 4.5 years after Battle of yavin, less than 1 year after endor.

JK, takes place 5 years after battle of yavin.

4.5-5 a.b.y.: "One year after the emperor's death, the central commitee, of grand moffs decided to increase their own power base by moving against isard. They proclaimed there own canidate--Trioculus, a former kessel slavelord--as imperial leader and attempted to rally the fleet behind him. some followed their lead, but the bulk of the fleet, including captain pelleon of the star destroyer chimeara, remained loyal to isard.

The new republic moved against the grand moffs under auspices of the senate planetery intelligence network(spin}, a short-lived analysis and infiltration task force formed by mon mothma. Isard, meanwhile, freed jabba the hutt's father, zorba, from prison and sent him into the fray as her unwitting agent. Zorba seized Cloud City from Lando Calrissian, who only recently rescued the city from clutches of the empire. In the end, no fleet battle occured. Trioculus, zorba, and a shadowy group of mystics called the prophets of the darkside wiped each other out in an internal struggle. Those grand moffs who had been involved during the conspiracy were executed and Isard's position at the head of the empire became more secure than ever.

A few months later, ysanne isard was instrumental in foiling a New Republic espionage mission to coruscant. Pilot Tycho Celchu, a member of rogue squadron, took a tie fighter captured during the truce at bakura and infiltrated the imperial capitol. Isard, however, uncovered the spy and imprisoned him in a hellish prison known only as Lusankya. celchu eventually escaped to the New Republic, but was viewed with suspicion by the many, who suspected he had been brainwashed into becoming a sleeper agent."
